| I hope you are feeling better soon! I had a hysterectomy in November. I never would've been able to take care of her while I was down if it wasn't for help. She loves to snuggle and we spent a lot of time on the couch, but I still needed help with feed/water/exercise. If you trust your sister with Sal, I'd let her take care of him for a little while. Take it on a day-by-day basis if you need to. I'm sure Sal will miss you, but think of all the kisses you'll get when you're back together! Take care! |

| I think that's sweet of your sister to offer. Doyou have some reservations about letting her for some reason? Does she have other animals there? Other family members besides herself? I understand your feeling...it's like we don't feel anyone can care for our babies as we do. Maybe you can let her keep him for a couple days prior to Monday to see how it goes. I hope it works out for you so you don't have to worry...you have enough to concentrate on. I wish you the best on your surgery and pray for a speedy and full recovery..

| It is very nice of her to be able to sit your Sal. Unless there are reasons that you do not think it is a good idea, I would do it. As someone said, she could bring him for visits. Best of luck and here's to a quick recovery.

| It takes a strong person to go through what you are now going through, and don’t forget that. You may be doubting yourself right now, and thinking that maybe you should let your sister take care of Sal. But there are a few questions I would ask myself. Like, how will this make Sal and I feel, how will this effect Sal and I? I think pets are sort of a gift from god. They are always there for you when you’re feeling down, when you’re sick or when you just need some hugs and kisses! If your sister is willing to take Sal, why don’t you see if she will just stop by and make sure everything’s okay. It may be a bit tough since you just had surgery, and you may need a bit more help then normal. But in the long run I think you just might feel better keeping Sal with you. This is just my opinion. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. |

| Thanks To answer a few questions my sister lives about 7 hours away for me. She has two other very large dogs in their home My sister is planning to make the trip very soon. I have decide that to let Sal go for awhile. We have told her that we will pay for all Sal needs and provide any extra things that he may need. So thank you again, Cathi |

| Cathi think this through slowly. With Sal 7 hrs away from you are you going to be worrying constantly if he is alright? That will not be good for you. Having cancer you have to have things to fight for. Sal might be good for you unless you have no one else who can walk him or let him out. I am thinking about your health if you let him go and worry all the time. That stress is not good for you. I hope it all works out fine and I hope you are feeling better real soon. Hugs, Sue |

| Forgot to add my Dad has lung cancer. We almost lost him. He lived alone with his 2 dogs. As he recovered some in nursing home we brought his dogs to visit him and what a difference in him. They were so happy to see him finally. Dad was really glad to see them too and could not wait to get well enough to go home to them. Now he is home with his 2 dogs again needing very little help. While he was gone my husband and I went over several times a day to let his dogs out. Take care and do get well soon. Sue |

| Cathi, Hi, I've missed seeing your posts. I had no idea you had cancer. I will add you to my prayer list. I'm wondering if you have a friend or family member closer to you that could keep Sal that is used to him and/or small dog needs. That way the friend could bring Sal to visit when you're up to it. Good therapy for both of you. Or do you have someone or a couple different people who could come over and help with exercise, etc. for Sal? A neighbor perhaps
