| Ad in Sunday Paper!!! I always check the "Pets for sale" section of the Sunday paper for Yorkies and maltese...........old habits are hard to break! But I came across this ad and about fell out of my chair! I was in disgust and had to laugh at the same time. I know there will be a lot of calls to them and they will most likely sell their pups to unsuspecting and uninformed people but still........it irritates me a bit to see such ads. The ad read: Yorkies AKC Hard to Find XXX Teenies!!! 3 mos. old. M, 1 1/2 lbs; F, 1 lb. 1 oz. Extreme Teaspoons. M should be under 3 lbs. fully grown, $3,000; F under 2 1/2 lbs. fully grown, $5,000. Short legs, Coby body, adorable baby doll faces. Will be ready for Valentines Day. Also 1 M brother 2 1/2 lbs., $900. Absolutely adorbable. Looks like a little wind up toys. Shown by appt. only. (then their ph. number) Doesn't say much about the background, pedigree, or health guarantees. (shaking my head)

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Sickening Just sick - $5000 for the little female, but $900 for the brother who is a pound bigger? Who doesn't realize that they all have the same genes? That they'll probably all be the same size when they are adults. And, I have heard that some people bulk up their ages! They tell you they are 3 months old, and really they are 6 or 8 weeks old. That sort of thing makes me so MAD! Furious, actually. What's worse is that buyers create the demand for such small babies by buying them, and these "breeders" continue to breed their 3 pounds females, endangering their lives. Sorry for the rant, but there is a reason the YTCA banned advertising a Yorkie as a "teacup."
