| Red Legged Yorkies Has anyone ever heard of red legged yorkies? I was at a website today and first heard of it. I think my yorkie maybe one. His legs and most of the hair on his head is orange. I would like to know how they differ from a regular yorkie. Thanks Tauni |

Red legged Yorkies are also called wirehaired Yorkies . Because they are black and red as adult and never have long coat . The are not different from the other ones except for the coat not growing .

| They are just like any other yorkie except for the very slow growing coat which to some people wouldn't be relevant as they keep their babies in puppy cuts. Their coats aren't ugly they just don't grow it like regular yorkies do. They love you and are great pets like any others. This is not a major or life threatning condition. It would only matter if you are a breeder as you wouldn't want this fault in your lines. |

| This is a red legged or a wirehaired Yorkie . They are commonly named like that because they coat never grow . They look like Australian Terriers . |

Yes, his coat is very slow growing. When I first got him (at 4 months) he had a nice full coat. Then it got scraggly looking so I shaved him down pretty far. His coat is slow in growing back, but he feels like silk. I will get some pictures and post. Tauni

| A red legged is just that...he/she has red head and legs course slow growing coat...Red legged are sometimes good to have in a breeding program because they can be used to clarify a color in a breeding...I just so happen to have a reg legged - its Hannah on my webpage
