| New Mommy Questions I am learning as I go but I have a few questions.... - I have heard that females tend to bond more with the male caretaker in the house and the male pup with the female caretaker. Is there any truth to this? - Cali is only 7 weeks but she is really scared when we are in the car and she is scared when outside. We cannot take her out on walks right now b/c she does not have all her shots so she could get something. We do not have a yard, but a townhome with a patio that is paved mostly. Will she grow out of this with age? Is there anything we can do right now to help with her fear of the car and being outside? |

She loves to stick her head out the window while riding in the car. She was also afraid of outside, she loves that now also. I think its perfectly normal for a 7 week old baby to be afraid of everything!!!

| I dunno...Puddin is 8 weeks (we've had her for 2) and she seems unfazed by anything! I caught her outside on the patio this morning, sniffing at a leaf (she's so little she got through the bars on the baby gate at the kitchen door), she loves to ride in the car (she falls asleep), and everything is a big adventure to her. Different dogs have different personalities, just like kids. As far as the bonding thing, Puddin adores me...but she adores Papa even more. When he comes home from work her ears stand up so straight and she literally quivers with excitement for him to pick her up. But when she is tired and needs a snooze or a cuddle, or wants to go to her puddle pad, she remembers she has a Mama, too. They are SO precious! Try getting a puppy purse for your baby and see if that helps with the anxiety. They can feel safe in a little portable "cave." To get her used to the purse I took one of her blankies (not a clean one, but one that smelled like her) and folded it to put on the bottom of the bag, then turned it on its side and put a couple of treats and a toy inside, then let her nap in it. Next time I went out with her, I put her in the bag and seatbelted the bag in the car to keep her safe. I think she is asleep before we get to the end of the block! Have you posted any pics of your baby? Would love to see some!
