| Male vs Female Yorkie? I am debating on whether to get a boy or a girl. I've always wanted a female yorkie and already have pink bed, bowls, etc for her. But the more I read and research, I find that people say that females are more likely to bond with the male of the household and that males are usually more friendly. What are your opinions? Thanks |

| I think you will hear different things from different people. Layla's favorite person is my mom I just wanted a girl because when I went to rub her belly i didn't want... extra stuff... there |

| I vote for the boys!!! My boys are mamas babies.. My girls are sweet too, but the boys just tug at my heart strings. They have to be everywhere I am. They even cry when I go to the bathroom and shut the door... I love how much they love me!! |

No Longer a Member | I have learned that you can dress up your male just as much as you can dress up and color coordinate a female. I have both and I dress up them an equal amount. It is hard to say which one is more affectionate..My male loves to be just near me. He will get out of bed and follow me when I leave the room But!!! he doesn't like cuddling and being in bed with me. My female doesn't need to be near me all the time, but she is always ready to cuddle and lay in bed with me. So I guess it depends on the personality of the pup |

| Suzi is my little baby girl. She follows me everywhere to, and always is near me. Suzi sleeps in my bed always and does not even get out of the bed until I do, then she jumps on me and smothers me with sweet kissess all over my face every morning! She is a little princess . Suzi is full of energy and so excited when people come over, demands attention from others and loves to jump on my friends for sweet kissess. Not everybody enjoys puppy kissess and that is her absolute favorite! She is very smart too! Pees and poos on her puppy pads , and stands up at our water cooler for a drink. She plays rough with her toys and growls at them too, she makes me laugh at her behavior. She also knows how to jump on our kitchen chairs and looks for anything left behind on the table. We have to watch her for that... When she has something she can't she will run away with it in her mouth, then we have to chase her and pry it out of her mouth.... Sill girl knows when she has something she is not suppose to get becasue she runs , and then we get close to her, the takes off again... She can be quite a little character! Suzi does love my brother who comes over everyday, and listens better to my teenaged son when he tells her to come inside the house. She tries to give me more of a hard time. But, I tend to be a softy on her.

| I originally wanted a girl for similar reasons as you (dressing her up, bows, etc.) but when I laid eyes on my boy JoJo for the first time it was love at first sight. He is a momma's boy through and through. He is my constant shadow. If I leave the room or get up from the couch he is right there at my feet. He absolutely loves to cuddle, and whenever he's got a toy or a treat he MUST play/chew on my lap or at my side. If he's in his x-pen and I leave the room he cries. He won't cry for anyone else but me. Oh, and he LOVES to shower me with kisses. He's my little angel. |

| My little boy is a sweetheart, but on his own terms. He cuddles and gives me hundreds, thousands of kisses, but only when he wants to. Sometimes he will cuddle with me and sometimes not. But he is a really independent dog. He likes to do his own thing most of the time, but he always checks that I am there while he does his thing. He is also very aloof with other people and even me sometimes. When we have company, he doesn't really like them to touch him (but I blame that on his terrible, horrid, pathetic breeder). But, he loves men. I think it is because he is used to women. He absolutely loves my brother and my sister's boyfriend. He was thick as thieves with my ex. But he only really listens to me. Hope this helps. And... the extra equipment won't matter as soon as you see your pup. I didn't want a boy for the same reason, but you get used to it very quickly and treat it just as you would your own skin baby.

| I have 3 boys and 1 girl. They are all so sweet and cuddlebugs. If i had to choose between a boy or a girl, i would go for a girl. Like someone else said, a girls belly is so much cleaner when you want to give a belly rub. Another thing about a girl, ya dont have the marking like with a boy,but the boys are so sweet too. I guess it would be according to your own personal choice.

| This is the perfect response to why i chose my girl Honey... I was just under the assumption that house breaking a female is easier b/c females dont "mark". BUT i can't tell you if that's true or not. Honey is almost 6 months and she's pretty much got it down now. At first i thought i was going to shoot myself and have to re-do my flooring! She's down to an accident once every 2-3 days now. and that's more my fault. BUT she stays to the puppy pads! I also didnt want a boy cuz of the belly thing either. And boy does she LOVE her belly rubbed!!! She's also VERY affectionate! She follows me everywhere and loves to cuddle w/ me AFTER we've been in bed for a little while. So it's all on the pup!!!! Hope this helps! |

| My Boy! I have 3 Yorkies, my first one was the male and he is definetely my Boy! He will bend over backwards literally to make me Happy, just to see me Smile! I got my female a year and a half later, she is 4 yrs. old now and she is still closer and more bonded with my Husband than me? I am the one that takes care of all of them 24/7. Even the youngest female that we have (2 1/2 yrs. old) w/c is Artie & Abigayle's Daughter Pom Pom, is totally smitten w/him too. They show me affection too but not to the same extent that they show him? Artie is the one I put a Topknot on every day as well as braid his Tail, and when I dress him we all wear co-ordinating outfits he even has a bow on his Tail. He likes to Dress-up as much as the Girls do if not more. And he does sleep in a bright Fushia Pink Bed in the shape of a Throne that say's "Princess" that he picked out himself at the Store, I could'nt say NO even if it was $100.00 on Sale. My vote will always be for a Boy over a Girl!

| My girl is my girl. She likes me to hold her but she is free spirited. My boys are always wanting to kiss and are all over me. I vote either one. They are all great |

| I think if you already had a female yorkie a male yorkie would be the better choice but they are both so lovable. I love the girls because when someone wants to pick them up they are clean and they don't lift their leg but some do You always see more males available because of that but then again you always get better choice quality wise in a male since most breeders keep nice females for breeding. So this hasn't helped you one bit has it. LOL
