| New Baby that needs a name!! Hi all, I came home with my yorkie baby on Valentines day! A little man who is so sweet!! My problem is finding a name and sticking with it. ONe day he was Max, Valentino, Baxter, Harley....... I am now calling him PUPPY poor dog. I have a son in the marines and thought of trying to come up with something that would have something to do with that but came up with nothing. So, here are some names and as you can well guess I am OPEN to any you might have for me. On another note he is doing sooo good on training. We hung a bell by the back door and twice he has rang it to go outside. So, he goes outside and does use the puppy pads too. NO accidents in the last 3 days. I am not holding my breath tho. ha! Harley Stirling Gunner ??? Thanks, Karen |

| Congratulations on your new baby boy! I like the name Gunner. It sounds like you had the Military in mind when choosing that one. |

| Hi. I am not so great with names without seeing and being with the puppy. I just wanted to say great job on the potty training. Coco, Pebbles and Trixie are sending great big welcoming hugs to you and your new little guy. I don't know what I would have done without this site. Everyone is so nice, knowledgeable and very helpful. So welcome again. P.S. Tell your son we said thank you for keeping us safe. May God be with him.

| Hi Karen...I agree with jmdt...please tell your son 'Thank You!' for his service to our country. I have several family members in active duty right now so I can certainly understand and appreciate the sacrifice of others. That being said...I like Gunner. My Molly just had 3 boys and their nick names are Tank, Tugboat and Boomer...I was never good at names but one day they just hit me and seemed to fit their personalities so they stuck. |

| Thanks! Everyone here is so nice! I am so glad i found it. Thanks so much for the support! I am leaning to Gunner or Gunnie (which is what they call a SGT). I guess I will pick a name before he gets too old. ha! I will try to get my son to post a picture if I can figure it out. Thanks and please say a prayer for my son Michael who heads off to AFghan. pretty soon. Thanks, Karen |

| How about I Googled Marine bulldog names for you and found the first Marine mascot was....At the Marine base at Quantico, Virginia, the Marines obtained a registered English Bulldog, King Bulwark. In a formal ceremony on 14 October 1922, BGen. Smedley D. Butler signed documents enlisting the bulldog, renamed Jiggs, for the "term of life." Pvt. Jiggs then began his official duties in the U.S. Marine Corps. I couldn't tell you what the current mascot's name is, but thought Jiggs was cute. However, if you go to the Marine's website it might give you more ideas. Names can be very hard, but since you're looking for a sentimental one it will probably just pop out at you. Good luck and please let us know what you decide. Congratulations on you little man and God Bless you and your son for his service to our country. My son just left for Navy boot camp nine days ago, so I understand your fears and concerns for your son very well. Actually, now that I think about it I believe I've heard some Marine friends call their mascot Smedley. How about that one?
