| Where do you take your Yorkies? Where do you all take your Yorkies? Rocco hardly comes with me places because he is so difficult to deal with. Yesterday, I tried to take him on a car ride and all he did was whine, bark and try to escape from his carrier. He even wiggled out and I had the HARDEST time getting him back in. When I take him to a friend's house, I end up spending the whole time chasing him around and trying to get him to behave. Plus I am afraid he will not be allowed in most places, even if he is in his carrier. I am hoping as he gets older, he will be more calm and will handle public places better!

| Welll, I have made mine service animals so that I can take them with me everywhere. They do have to be trained to behave in public places and it is not hard, but you have to work with them as you go about the day....I use treats as training time and try to spend 5 minutes twice a day with each on commone behaviors. Does your carrier have a hook in it to keep him in? Can't figure out how he got out? Mine aren't perfect but the more you take them the better they get and I have heard that they mellow with age. You can also get bully sticks and only give them to hom when he is in his carrier to keep him busy. Good luck. |

| There was the tiniest hole where the zipper did not fully close. Somehow he stuck his paw in there and opened it just enough to get out. It doesn't have a place to hook him in but that would help. Maybe I will look into a new carrier. I really want him to become socialized and familiar with public places.

| I have sneak Gucci into McDonald's, Hotels in Atlantic City, Applebee's and some stores. This month I had my son and Gucci waiting for me at the entrance of the clinic. He was sitting at the entrance and Gucci was on her carrier. It was so hot outside that i told my son to wait for me quietly at the entrance so he can feel the AC. Gucci was quiet the whole time, the security guard didnt even notice Gucci until I show her to him. Im not saying that is ok to sneak her in but I have and so far I havent get caught. Gucci usually stays quiet when we go outside. She only barks at home. Friday we visited my husband's friend. His wife is taking care of her daugther's yorkie. The little one is a 4 yrs old girl and my Gucci is 1yr old. The other yorkie was barking at Gucci and snififng her but Gucci just wanted to lay down on my lap. She didnt even bark back. My carrier has a hook that I clip to her harness. At home she always gets out of the carrier but when we go out she usually sleeps. I have treats and toys on her carrier. | Gus goes almost everywhere with me. I even took him to a doctors appoinment with me. I knew it was moreless going to be an in and out visit. They never even knew he was there. He is really a good boy. He loves going anywhere with me,,,,, the moment he hears the keys he runs to his bag.

| Yeah I take coco everywhere with me. I have been doing this since she was 8 weeks old though so I guess she is just used to it. What you should do is try and take him everywhere you go so he can get used to being in the bag and going out. He will eventualy calm down. |

| I bring Deegan with me to almost everywhere I go. To the mall, to Walmart, to the bank, to friend's/families houses. I have a carrier and he does quite well in it. Most people don't even notice him. I think the only place I haven't brought him is the grocery store. I might try sometime though.

| How in the world did you get Deegan into Walmart? That place is worse that fort knox in my area and it's really sort of retarded since by every Walmart there also seems to be a Petsmart? I too take Teddy with me most places. If Teddy can't get in then I don't go to that establishment with the exception of grocery stores where I know because of health codes he isn't allowed.

| I've never had a problem at a Walmart either but I rarely go in there unless it is an emergency because I do not believe in their business practices. |

| I had a female for 17 years that I took with me everywhere! She was so good in her bag, and knew she had to be quiet. She went to movies, professional football games, the Ice Capades, restaurants, church, I snuck her on the airplane (pre 9/11 security, of course), work at various studios and venues. Probably the most "shocking" place was Richard Simmons house. I told him about two years later what I had done. Her name was "Sneaker" and the name appropriately fit her! Toby is a whole different story! He refuses to be "snuck" anywhere. He wants everyone to know that he has arrived! Although, he will stay in his bag when I'm working, he still makes it his business to be noticed! |
