| hi i'm new here and i have a question.. people here are probable tired of the question i'm about to post but just to let you know i am a new mommy of a 2 month old yorkie girl named Mia Bella so i have a lot to learn about taking very good care of my baby. anyways my mia has a lot of wavy hair soft on top and i've noticed that the root part of her coat is slightly matted. i gave her a good bath conditioned and spent hours combing out the matted hair. now she's soft and fluffy. i was wondering if she will ever have that silky coat or will she be more of a cotton like yorkie. the mom is silky but i never saw the father. answer will be much appreciated. |

| Hi and welcome to YT!!!!!! My Bailey had a cotton puppy coat. Her adult coat is silky. I keep her in a puppy cut and I've never had to comb it. Good luck!!

| My Maddie was the same way, She had a fluffy coat before her first cut at about 8 months. It grew back silky. I think it is common for thier coats to be this way. ____________________ I MADDIE! |

| Welcome to YT One way to get an idea of what type of coat she will have as an adult is to take a flash photo of her and look for the reflective color of her eyes. If she has a warm (red) reflective color she'll have a more cotton coat, a cool reflective color (green) will be a more silky coat.
