| Hyperthermia in Yorkies Does anyone know much about yorkies with Hyperthermia. We took our little 5 pound yorkie for her spaying the end of 2008 and the vet could not do the procedure due to her temp reaching 105 in less than a couple minutes. We live in Florida and when she gets hot or excited and it does not take much for her to get excited. Even kissing her morkie buddy will send her into a state. She pants her tounge expands and her eyes get larger. We put her in cool water and place cool clothes under her legs and drip water on her head. She was doing this prior to her scheduled spay. It started after we took her to the groomer (and she had been to this same groomer prior) This one time, they called and asked if we would pick-her up. She had diarrhea for week after that, and has just not been able to have much excitment since. Doc gave us valium for when she has a bad spat of this. But he has no other therory, even has called to other vets for advise. Not sure what to do other than what we are doing. It's a shame because she is such a playful little gal. So if anyone has had this issue before or knows anything about it, I would love to here from you. |

| Ok, I'll have to state the obvious...she spikes fevers and had diarrhea for a week...sounds like an infection somewhere in the GI tract. I'd see a different vet for a second opinion.
