Doorbell barking We have a doorbell, nobody EVER rings it, and if it was to ring it makes a lil song not like your ordinary doorbell. We were watching a movie the other day and twice on the movie the doorbell rang "bing bong" like a normal doorbell, both times Pita jumps up and starts barking at the front door, out of a sound sleep she did this! I put it off to the fact it must have startled her out of her sleep. Last nite we were watching something and the doorbell rang on the tv and Pita ran to the front door barking! She wasn't asleep this time! How could she know?? We got her at 12 weeks old and she was always in a kennel, she just started barking so it's not like she barks at everything. How does she know what a doorbell signifies??

She's just a smart yorkie. They all are. Atleast she doesn't bark at things that aren't even there like mine do. Ugh!

| How could she know? I quit asking those kind of questions a long, long time ago. I have long been convinced that they are much smarter than we are.

Penny did this before we moved - and we didn't have a doorbell. I hate now when the Domino's commercials come on! Our new place has a doorbell, and she goes nuts. Guess the TV was just warming her up for the real thing.

It's always amazed me what things are inbred in these guys and become instinct and intuition. Hefner never has dug outside and was never taugt to dig and yet he does it naturally. Things like that .....I bet after gnerations and generations of dogs the doorbell is one of those instincts now.
