| last night So I took Callie with me over to my boyfriends house last night and she is sick with a respatory infection but if I left her home she would have made her self sicker missing me so I took her with me and everything was going great we got there and after the car was unloaded I put Callie down and she meet my bf's dog who is 25 pounds bigger then Callie she some kind of mix not sure what but shes a lot older and they seemed to get along fine and then I put Callie on the bench next to me and gave he 3 pieces of her dog food and she spit them all out on the floor so all three where on the floor well I put her down and my bf's dog came in and started eating the food and then I heard a grawl that didnt sound like my baby (although I have never heard Callie grawl) and then Callie started barking in this really high pitched bark that is not a normal bark for her and I picked her up and she was shaking then although not a normal thing I would do I picked her up and put her on the table infront of me and she was against my chest and then my bf's dog came back after the other pieces of food which where near me and Callie on the table still started barking in the high pitched bark again and shaking. We had already eaten dinner so we opened our presents and I left early. She has never acted like this she goes to dog parks and my parents house with there dogs and never has a problem. Do you think my bf's dog grawled and that scared Callie? Sense she has been sick shes seems scareder of things and a little grumpy maybe.

| I hope Callie is feeling better today. It sounds like she was either scared or trying to be protective of you. It probably would have been better to leave her home because if what she has is contagious she could give it to your boyfriends dog. |

| Have the dogs met before? Maybe you need to have them get to know each other, maybe on neutral territory when Callie feels better. Good point!

| It's never a good idea to have strange dogs and food together. You're lucky Callie didn't get bitten. A friend's Maltese lost an eye in a scuffle over food while visiting a home with a larger dog. |

| She seems to be feeling a little better today. I thought about that she could be contagious and told my bf that but he said bring her anyway and she was with me every sencond of getting ready so it would have been soooo hard to leave her.

| I didnt think about that because Callie had been around my moms dogs and there food and no one ever had a prob but I guess I know them better then my bfs dog. I will make sure if I take her again to feed her before and or after we leave.
