| Bath Time Help! I gave Alex a bath today for the first time -- he did great with that cried a little. But, when it was time to dry him with the hair drier he went crazy trying to eat my drier up. He sounded like someone just stepped on him. How do you get them use to the hair drier. I had to just put him in front of the heater and towel dry him. Then I had to wrap him up a baby him. Hugs,

| Wow! Puddin' had her first bath on Thursday and it was surprisingly uneventful...in fact, I totally expected what Alex did and it didn't happen. My experience with other dogs, though, is that it helps if two people are involved...one to hold and reassure the puppy, the other to hold the hair dryer. Maybe you can get someone to assist until he is no longer freaked by it? Poor baby...and poor mama!

| Missy LOVES the hairdryer. What I do is I keep her wrapped up in a towel as I do her head, face, neck area. I keep the blowdryer on the lowest setting and I don't put it too close to her. Then I have one of my kids hold the blow dryer while I brush her. She really, really enjoys it, and of course she gets treats after so that bathtime always ends on a positive note.

| AW, he will get used to it...just don't put the hair dryer too close to him or it might burn him. i put my 5 in the tub (no water) with a towel in the bottom and then take the hair dryer and blow them all at the same time just moving the dryer back and forth until they are pretty dry and then they all go running through the house flipping and flopping like little maniacs! They run to the bed and rock and roll until they are dry. It is a pretty funny site with my 5 little brats! |

| Ginger had a bath today too. She also tries to eat the hair dryer. She snaps at it and trys to run away. I have to hold her in place in order to get her mostly dry. I'm hoping in time she will get used to it. Ending with a treat sounds like a good idea. I'll try that one next time!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I groom all of mine and I brush them while blow drying and they just get use to it. I do use the Andes pet hair dryer and I can use it hands free and it is quieter than my blow dryer. Then they always get a good groom treat. Just keep getting him use to it.

Donating YT Addict | I had to do what your doing for Tyke the first baths i gave him. He didn't like the blow dryer either. but he slowly got used to it over time. now he's 8 monthes old and he lets you blow dry him. just take it slow. The heater did come in handy it just took longer to get him dry.
