| yorkie coat length Hi, all! I was wondering if there are any resources here about yorkie coat length. My yorkie Fyo will be one this month and I've not yet cut his hair, but his coat is not very long at all...maybe his coat is poor quality? Does anyone have any information about how long it should be at this stage, or what, if anything, I can do to encourage its growth? Any responses would be much appreciated!! Thanks a bunch |

| Not all yorkies are able to grow a long coat. It is not in their genetics. There are somethings you can do to encourage the coat to grow. A good shampoo and conditioner and detanger. A fish oil or omega fatty acid suppliment. Now I do all this and My girls hair still only grows so long and then stops growing. But her coat is silky and shiny and I am doing the best I can with it

| Hi Chachi! Thanks for the info. I feed him Royal Canin yorkie food. I never though about the supplements, but I will look into it. My yorkie's father's coat was long...but maybe it's just not in the cards for him. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Some grow coat slower than others. Roxie's coat didn't hit the floor until she was about 14 months old and know it seems to be growing nicely.
