| Ohmygoodness I almost had a heart attack today! My little man gave me quite a scare today! Let me start off by saying that Shiloh has no idea that he is a five pound Yorkie, cause he definitely has the heart of a lion lol. He has what my family and I call "inner vicious" hehe. Shiloh is extremely protective of not only myself but my two children as well. So I was in my fenced in back yard today trying to do some yard work after a big storm we just had. My children and Shiloh were outside "helping" (or just running around playing ). One of my neighbors whose back yard isn't fenced in has a very large dog, I'm not sure of the breed but suffice to say he weighs at least 150+ lbs. When they take him outside they put him on one of those chains that has a stake into the ground. He always threateningly growls and barks at anyone in our yard. Shiloh always goes crazy barking and growling back at him, even throwing his body against the chain link fence like he is trying to break it down. Shiloh will even tug at our clothes to try to pull us away from the fence. Anyways, somehow the gate to my backyard got left open and before I knew it Shiloh was out of the gate and running full on at the other dog. I started screaming, and ran after him cause I knew if the other dog got to him he could easily hurt him very badly and possibly kill him. The neighbor's dog was chained up and was pulling all his weight trying to reach Shiloh. They were literally inches apart, nose to nose barking, growling, snarling at each other. But luckily Shiloh was smart enough to know that as long as he stood just far enough back he couldn't reach him due to the chain. Amongst the commotion my neighbors ran out and restrained their dog and I snatched Shiloh up and rushed him back into the safety of our back yard. For the rest of the day he pranced around like he was so proud of himself for telling him off! It was like he was thinking "I sure gave him a piece of my mind. No one barks or growls at MY family!!" lol. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Good for him!!! Size does'nt matter. You have a small dog that is secure with himself. I love it. My neighbor had a Rotweiler that whined at a hot dog a kid gave him at a picnic. He was huge and affraid of everything!! Lol

| Yorkies don't know how small they are. They think of themselves as the big bad wolf I guess Shilou feels much better after telling that doggie off. I am sure if that dog were loose he would have done the samething. Go right for him. Buddy does that with only big dogs. The bigger the better. As smart as they are at times they are so stupid! |

| I am very glad that dog was chained ! This could have had a tragic ending! Shiloh has a heart of a lion! My heart would of been in my stomach if that was my Suzi !

| My male Chipper was full of himself. I almost had heart failure when one night I let him out and he spotted a red fox. Off he went chasing the fox up the hill into the woods. I thought for sure this is it, he's a goner, the fox is going to rip him apart. I was yelling and screaming for him to come! A couple of minutes later he comes running out of the woods so proud of himself. After that I always put him in the pen at night and never let him loose. I figured I got lucky that night and Chipper didn't get hurt.

| Whew I started breaking a sweat there when I was reading this. I'm so glad to hear that Shiloh is ok. My furbaby is the same way, even when she's inside the house. She loves to look outside so whenever my neighbors dog comes outside, she definitely lets us all know. I hate the fact that my neighbors don't chain their dog when they let him out, plus they don't have a fenced in yard. He's just a sheltie, but if we happen to be out at the same time, he comes running over all the time and I'm always afraid that something will go wrong. He's a very sweet dog, but I don't know him well enough to know that he's great with dogs. Still, I'm so happy to hear that Shiloh's ok and that he's protecting you and your family. |
