| :( <----- Sad mommy here So as you all should know I have 2 yorkie males Peanut and Pigpen. We had peanut now for almost 2 years on may 25!! And Pigpen is only 9 months. Well my boyfriend and I got pigpen for peanut, to have a playmate, snuggle buddy, little brother..etc Well peanut LOVED having pig for like 4 months, after that we think peanut kind of got over him in a way. Pigpen wants to play 24/7 and peanut doesnt. Peanut is more of the "lap dog" and pigpen is more like a lab in a yorkie body hehe We live in an apt, I take them on walks when I can, but peanut doesnt care to walk, if i take him he is happy and if not he is happy, but pigpen, geesh if he doesnt get to play outside or on a walk he goes stir crazy!! Anyways my boyfriend (tom) always thought he would be great with a bigger family and a yard to play in, so I went on a search just to see who is out there, ( i wasnt going to just give him to anyone!!) and by the grace of god we found the PERFECT FAMILY!! Its a husband and wife with 3 boys!!! 3,8 and 10 With a beautiful backyard with grass, trees, a pool, everything a little yorkie could ask for. She is also a stay at home mom So Pigpen and I went over there to see how he felt about them and it was love at first sight (with the backyard!! hehe) He was running with the kids and playing and sniffing, he looked so happy!! I was there for about 3 hours!! So I ended up giving pigpen to that family This was about 2 weeks ago. The first week was HARD!! I missed him so much!!! But you know I never regreted it!! Now its easier to deal with I still miss him, but I talk to the new family a lot and they even said I was part of the family, and I can come see him whenever I want. I think I should wait a month to go see him...??? I dont want him to see me and remember me and think he is going home with me.. I just talked to the new family yesterday and she said he thinks he is one of the boys, and he plays all day in the grass and he is very happy!! So.....oh and peanut!! He doesnt even miss pigpen!! Peanut is sooo happy, he gets to go everywhere with me again and he gets to play with just me!! So everything worked out.. He is mommas boy

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Not all pups like a sibling. Some are meant to be singletons. I think when you get a sibling the opposite sex tends to be a better idea.

| Awww... so glad that you were able to find your little Pigpen a good home/family. And most importantly, you can still visit and maybe take Peanut for an occassional playdate or something Im sure it'll take some time for you but you should feel great knowing he's happy and not to far away

| You are the best type of Mommy and dog could wish to have. The type that thinks of the dogs happiness first. I can only imagine how hard that decission was, but bless your heart for following through with what you knew was the right thing to do.

I really admire you. I have to admit, I am the type of person that whenever I see that someone wants to get rid of a dog that they took in, I get upset. I feel that it is their responsibility and one you don't walk away from. But you just showed me that has another side. You were sooo responsible and thought of both your dogs first! Even though it tore you up. I always thought of it to be a bad thing to take a dog out of its home and away from the people it loves, but it sounds like he is sooo happy!! I am really glad. I appreciate you sharing this story to give me a different perspective of it.

Yes I know I am like you as well, I think if you get a dog that is your responsibilty, and it was your choice to get him, but it was different with pigPen he needed more than what my boyfriend and I could give him and I am glad that we both saw that. He is happier with his new family I know he is. Knowing that is the only thing that is keeping me from falling apart..I miss him soooo much!!! He is really one of a kind and has soo much personality. He loves his new family!! He gets to have attention from 5 people...and you know how yorkies are such hams!! His new mommy told me that he is getting really attached to her as well, so that makes me happy.. Its hard, but like I said I dont have any regrets about doing it! I still have my peanut now he gets 110% of attention he doesnt have to share his mommie Thank you for understanding it means a lot to me

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Your the best! I applaud you for making such a selfless choice. It had to be hard, but you did what was best for both of the dogs you love. I teard up. I know that had to be both hard and rewarding. You get to see him and your blessed with a dog that likes to be the one and only and there is nothing wrong with that. I have all males in my house ...except for my skin daughter. LOL 3 male dogs and 3 male cats. They all get along. Yes,Pongo my oldest (15) has less tollerance and energy for the young pups Aiden (almost 1)( and Harley 6 mo) But they have a blast together most of the time. I have to say,I got a playmate for Aiden ,because I know Pongo will only be here for sort while longer. I raised my kids together and to me it's easier. They compliment each other. They eat, drink, play cuddle, fight, bark, torment the cats and fill my life with joy !!!!ALL TOGETHER. Enjoy your decission and again,I admire your choice.
