| 2nd Yorkie I love my Bently.......... no love isn't strong enough word...... maybe worship him..... I never thought I'd fall so much for something so small.... I got him for my wife but he's my buddy..... Ok, now that that's out of the way...... I'd love to get a 2nd Yorkie..... more for him than me..... but here's the issue.. we have a cat that he love's more than his favorite squeeky toy,,,, I know the cat loves to play with him, but the cat is about 8 years old and needs some rest, which Bently seldom gives him.... at least when we are home and can watch them both..... If the cat is in the backyard Bently wants to chase him all over the yard. The only rest the cat gets is when Bently can't physically get to him. So I'm thinking about a brother or sister for Bently...... Here's the main issue. Bently is extremely jealous. If I pet the cat,,,, Bently runs over and attacks the cat (not really attacks).... when I sit down next to my wife,,,,, Bently runs over jumps up on the couch and gets between us. I'm afraid that a 2nd Yorkie might have alot of trouble fitting in. Suggestions? Thanks And yes, I still have a man card........ even though I love my Yorkie.... |

| No question about the man card... I fell for my husband because he had a tiny Yorkie (no divorce leftover!!!) Anyway, I think a second Yorkie would be just great for Bentley. I have 4 and two of them, Minnie and Mikki, are close in age (10 and 14 months) and are playing, fighting and chasing each other all day long while our 'elderly couple' Maximus (6) and Maggie (3) enjoy their morningafternoonevening naps... The jealousy could be a lack of pack leadership from your side. It is difficult to treat Yorkies as real dogs but actually they are... yes, they are... Please consider a rescue when thinking of a second fur butt... Thanks! |

| I absolutely agree and think a second furbutt would be GREAT for Bentley!!! Right now he's in the "only child" state of mind... Another yorkie would be good for him in several ways... 4. He'd learn that he's not the center of the universe..(despite our best efforts to teach them otherwise) 3. It would give your poor old cat a break...he'd have something else to terrorize!! lol 2. You'll....eventually learn to be a stronger "pack" leader...so that would help Bentley deal with his jealousy issues...and # 1 REASON......... 1. Being owned by 2 yorkies is THE BOMB!!!!! We have two...and when I thought of getting a second I worried about how I would love it...when we adore our Daizy so much...no worries there...a second yorkie finds its place in your home and in your heart!!!! You'll probably wonder why you didn't do it sooner!!! GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!!!

| I have the same question - is it time for another yorkie?? I worry that another yorkie will change the personallity of my first yorkie, Bailey - but at the same time - I know she is bored with our less-than-active lifestyle...

| I don't think it's ever "too soon" ....to get a second yorkie!!! They are very social little things...and you will be surprised how quickly they bond!!! It doesn't change their personality at all!!! Although I have to admit...getting Tulip...actually made Daizy MORE AFFECTIONATE!! She didn't really ever cuddle to us..she was very independant...She actually jumps up and lays on our laps now...she gives kisses...which she hated to do before...lol imagine that...and she's just all around more loving!! And a playmate for a lonely yorkie is a MUST!!! IMO!!

| aaaaah i definitely think your baby needs a friend i only had one yorkie for about two days before my other one arrived...it was exhausting and i constantly worried if i was doing the right thing...but they are the best of friends and never act like they resent the other being there...and since then we have added siblings i cannot imagine having one...with yorkies, the more you have, the more fun you have and the more kisses you get

| Two yorkies I had a male fixed yorkie at 2 yrs old we got a new female baby. He didn't eat for days, he always got as far away from her as he could, he didn't like her. He was jealous! He never snapped at her, I think he just tolerated her. After a year, he lets her sleep in his bed with him & shares his toys with her. She's Miss busybody & he's Mr. Laid back hunk. You have to have patience when intoducing another one in the pack. They might react negative to begin with & get better with time.

| 2nd Yorkie When you get your new baby you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. I have 3 yorkies and 1 min pin and they all love each other and look out for one another. I can't imagine only having 1 now.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I agree with everyone; a second yorkie is just what you, Bentley and that poor kitty need. And I would add, the sooner the better. It took Ruby several weeks to accept Reno, at first she wouldn't even look at him. Once she determined he wasn't ever leaving, she gave up ignoring him and found out, he was actually fun to play with. Now after a year and a half, they are inseparable.

| Ok, I know you weren't asking for a vote, but I vote YES!!! Seriously, every furry is different, I think a lot has to do with how you handle the introductions and the new addition. But that being said, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it. When they play together, and lay together, and run together, and eat together, and sleep together, it will make you wonder why you didn't do it earlier Not to mention, 2 is twice the love and fun...

| Second yorkie is GREAT Quote:
Now on to the real issue; I am really glad we got a second yorkie. They keep each other company and are in many ways less total work than one since they play together so much. And if you are tossing a fetch toy, 2 can play as well as one. They like to jointly fetch and return the toy together, sometimes with some good wrestling in between. When you walk one, its not that much harder to walk two (although I wish there was a better retractable leash that would not tangle when they cross). You see a lot of chase and other funny behavior you would never see with just one. So if you can afford the vet bills and the extra hassle when traveling, get another one and you won’t regret it. | |

| I think it would really be a good idea for Bently to have a pal. This way he'd leave the cat alone, because he'd have someone to play with. The puppy would be a lot more active and entertaining then the cat.
