| snopes.com: Swiffer WetJet Pet Danger Try reading snopes.com again. Even the ASPCA's animal control center has issued a statement declaring this rumor to be unfounded: Urbana, IL, May 6, 2004—Veterinary toxicologists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center have reviewed the claim described in a widely distributed email alleging a relationship between the use of Swiffer Wet Jet and liver failure in a dog. The email alleges that exposure to the ingredients in Swiffer Wet Jet caused a dog's death. The Swiffer Wet Jet system contains water (90-100%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether or propylene glycol n-butyl ether and isopropyl alcohol (1-4%). These ingredients are safe to use around pets when used according to label directions and would not cause liver damage at product concentrations. Propylene glycol n-butyl/propyl ether differs significantly from ethylene glycol, the potentially toxic ingredient present in most antifreeze products. Ethylene glycol is frequently implicated in causing renal failure in dogs following antifreeze ingestion. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether and propylene glycol n-butyl ether are very safe ingredients at levels used in cleaning products and do not cause kidney or liver failure. The ASPCA will continue to monitor this situation and will post any additional information as it becomes available. Please call 1-888-426-4435 if you have any questions or have a pet that you suspect is experiencing problems, or visit us at http://www.apcc.aspca.org/. I thought we put this rumor to bed last week.

| The original email goes all the way back to 2004! This "information" is repeated on YT every few weeks as it makes its way into someones mailbox. I think its making the rounds again because it showed up at my husbands work yesterday too. Showed him the SNOPES.com article too.

| lkyorkies, that particular article may or may not be true but the fact is there are toixc and deadly chemicals in just about all of our cleaning and health and beauty products than we even know about. If you where to have your blood tested they would find about 300 toxic chemicals in there that shouldn't be there. If you want a real shock read "The Hundred Year Lie" by Randall Fitzgerald.... Hundred Year Lie, Organic Food, Alternative Medicine, Natural Products We may think we are cleaning our floors and counter tops of nasty little germs and dirt but in the process we are leaving in their place toxic chemicals. Our pets and children are at greater risk because they put things in their mouths and they' re systems are still developing and they're smaller. This also includes all those nice smelling air fresheners, disinfectants, body lotions, scrubs, toothpaste ( yes, fluoride is another lie), baby wipes etc.etc.etc. It's quite shocking when you research these things, we are under the assumption that everything on the market has to be tested for safety but that couldn't be farther from the truth.....

| I'm sooooooooo sorry I opened my mailbox and this warning was in it from my Mother. So like my Mother I wanted to notify as many people as possible. I should have done some research of my own. I do apologize.
