| New yorkie owner Hi everyone!! So i am a soon to be yorkie owner - on february 19 my baby will be in my arms ( over the moon and can't wait) - anyway i have been speaking with the breeder who appears to be knowledgeable as well helpful. There are a few questions that i am not very clear on so if any one can help me out it would greatly be appreciated. - i am picking up the puppy at 11 weeks - roughly how many lbs is appropriate for that age ( as reading about 2lbs is good) -what would be appropriate documentation for purchasing ie.shots, date of birth, lineage etc -best questions to ask breeder ie any return policy, what to expect as new yorkie owner -health: Any well known health concerns / problems in breed -any return policy/guarantee if so how long, under what conditions -training methods, how long does house training usually last, what to expect, how does yorkie interact with other animals and children i have read articles, books and spoken with individuals regarding yorkies - but it never hurts to get other's opinion and knowledge is always a plus!! I appreciate any help, just like you i want what is best....and i am proud to say my baby is a yorkie!!! |

| Hi! Welcome! Each dog is different, so it's hard to say what a puppy should weigh at 11 weeks or how long it will take to potty train. Unless you know the breeder personally you just have to rely on doing the research on the breeder and decide that, to the best of your knowledge, this is a reputable and honest person. I would want the transfer papers at the time I pick up the puppy. I don't want them to send these to me as I've heard of too many people not ever receiving them. Make sure the breeder understands that you will expect to get the papers and medical records at the time that you pick up the puppy. All agreed to statements of health, return policy, obligations to pay for treatments, etc...need to be discussed and agreed to and in writing before you pick up the puppy. If you have any questions that aren't being answered in a clear way, then keep saying to the breeder that you are sorry, this is all so new to you, but that you just aren't clear about this, could she try one more time to explain about blah-blah-blah. So here's hoping and praying that all works out well for you and that you will have your baby in just a few more weeks. I know it will be the longest few weeks you've every had. But use it to get stored up on sleep...because you'll need it when your puppy comes in and takes over your life.

| I'd want a health certificate. The name of her vet, and whatever you do if she's suppose to be AKC don't leave until she can give you the papers. If she makes any excuse for not having them I'd look somewhere else.
