| Since you got your yorkie, what have you given up? lol.. I have given up so many different things since i got keely. And wouldnt trade it for the world. I have given up wearing makeup, she likes to lick it off, an im afraid it would hurt her. -Wearing dangly earings. I only wear studs now. Keely doesnt like them, she barks at them as if to say "get away from my mama!" And she bites at them, which hurts. - going to friends houses all night. I dont wanna leave my baby - I have given up being lazy, cause' my girl wants her wals and to Play -I stopped being messy. I clean up my room everyday just incase somethings on the floro that she could swallow or hurt herself with. -My fleece sheets. Keely doesnt like them, they make her too warm. Now i have cotton sheets -Listening to loud music. Which is something i LOVED. But it hurts keelys ears. What have you given up? |

| Job related travel. Eating lunch at work (go home for lunch to be with Gus). Cut down on playing the flute, because I can't play with Gus on my lap. Going to the movie theater. Sleeping in bed alone.

| Our travel habits have changed. We used to go places and stay at hotels......... now we look for RV sites! (When we Do stay at hotels, I have to look for ones that are clean and accept pets, which is usually quite pricey with the pet fees). I don't feel very comfortable leaving them in a kennel, but one of these days I am hoping to check out Petsuites. It may be an option.

| I've given up ... - a spacey room .. Gucci has now moved into the middle of it with his x-pen, tent, bed and toys lol. On the side of my bed in his little drawer thing are all of his clothing, on my side dresser are his hair accessories (in a box) and on the dresser is his bag of food, wipes, treat jar and on the side of the dresser are his puppy pads - An un-interrupted sleep, he demands for me to get up and feed him at around 6 every morning as well as put a fresh puppy pad and give some lovin for at least 20 minutes, then more lovin around 7:45 and more around 8:30 then I'm up. - Doing anything without taking him with us, he mostly always goes with us. - Going shopping for a long time, leaving the house for a long time and going out of town (he sometimes gets car sick ) - I gave up visiting my bullys outside for 2 months because Gucci hadn't had all of his shots that was VERY VERY HARD TO DO, they were so so sad without me.. all they had was daddy. - Watching movies alone, he HAS to be on the bed (I don't mind) - Computer time alone, he likes to be with me... Pretty much my whole life has changed and I wouldn't change it back for the world... |

| Just off the top of my head... -I have "reduced" how much money I spend on my random little odds and ends so that I can give my little doll everything -I'm a college student and I stopped studying at the library (I used to virtually live there), so I can study at home with my little Bella Bean on my lap -I have become more of a clean freak now, than I was before -I no longer use my beloved Swiffer Mop after I heard that it could harm her -I don't go out to eat as much in the winter because I can't take her in the restaurants with me -I have given up sleeping in on Saturdays -I have given up the passenger seat in my car...that's where Bella's car seat is now -I have given up my glasses for contacts because Bella was just determined to eat them. lol

| Sounds like Yorkies should come with some type of warning label

YT 500 Club Member | I have also given up staying at the office for lunch. I go home to let Sophie out. I also gave up riding my bike. I would rather take her for a walk! I plan to sell my bike this spring. I walk my treadmill in the mornings now.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I have given up a lot. Basically, i used to go out all the time w/o a care cause i didnt have any pets to look after but now that i have 3 kids basically lol , i don't just go out like that w/o thinking it thru first. I make sure someone will be home with them and that they are all okay. I also used to work more but now with them i dont work as much cause i dont want to leave them alone. Either me or my bf stay with them while the other works. I also gave up the chance to go away to college, i got in a college where i needed to dorn but i turned it down and stayed locally to be with them. I also cant travel as much, i could maybe if i only had 1 but i have 3. But they make me happy and thats all that matters cause if i didnt have them i wouldnt be a happy person

| i've given up many things since i got my baby - staying out late at night bc i know i have to wake up at 7 to feed prince and i dont want to over sleep - going out during the day for a long time bc i have to feed prince every 4-6 hours - being lazy about cleaning bc i must vaccum and clean to make sure theres nothing harmful on the floor - wearing expensive clothes around the house bc i always hold prince and sometimes has poop on his butt or when i feed him i get dirty - having a nice size living room bc prince has his xpen right in the middle - blasting music while i get ready to go out or clean - spending $ carelessly bc now it all goes to prince...food,clothes,toys, and vet bills. & all this time in the house gives me even more reason to love yorkietalk i wouldnt change any of this for world, prince has made me a more responsible adult and i love him to death |

| Let's see... -I have minimize going out or going out for long. -No more sleeping in. -Cleaning more often. -Given up a huge dining area and a room for him. -His clothes and things took up a whole closet. -Buy less of my own stuff just to be able to afford his stuff. -Spend more time cooking for my Yorkie & since I cook for my Yorkie, I do it for my hubby as well. At least it is healthier for everybody.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I was thinking about starting a thread about how having a dog has changed your attitude... I don't know that I've given up much, but life sure feels different! - I spend a lot more time outside, which I love. - I get more exercise. - I eat better and run more errands on foot. - I'm much more blase about dirt, pee, and other things dogs tend to attract / produce. - I drive more carefully, because I don't want to freak Thor out! - I've realized that parks are for dogs, not people. - I get to see what pure joy looks like every day. I never thought I could be so happy to see Thor's little tongue hanging out of his mouth, or his little tail sticking straight up as he chews a flossie into oblivion. |
