| Maggie fell off my bed!!! O.K so my husband was playing with Maggie on our bed(I was not home)and she fell off.He said at first she would not walk using her hind legs...then after a few minutes she did but VERY gingerly. He came to the gym to tell me and of course I flew home.Usually when she hears my car pull in the garage she comes running. She did not.I did watch her walk from one couch to the other..(where I sat) and it does not seem like anything is broke. She has not moved since. She has been curled up in the same spot for the last hour.I called the vet and their suggestion was to let her relax and when she gets up watch her movements and try to determine how much pain she is in.They do not feel I need to rush in for x-rays just yet.I dont either AT THIS POINT. So,I guess what I am asking is what kind of things should I look for to determine if she needs x-rays or if shes just going to be sore for a few days???I am trying to remain calm and not over react. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tammy |

| Oh I know how scary that is! If she's putting weight on her legs I'm sure she's fine. I bet in a few hours it will be like nothing happened. A few months ago Sugar jumped off of my daughter's friend's lap and landed badly on the tile floor. He was crying and holding his front legs straight out. I freaked and rushed him right to the vet. By the time the vet came in to examine him, he was running around like nothing had happened. I do know how you feel though- it's awful. Hugs to you and Maggie (and your husband who probably feels terrible.) eta: My vet did give me some pain medication in case Sugar had any soreness later on but he never did.

| Poor little Pumpkin! I wonder if a heating pad would help her feel secure and comfortable. I remember Trevor squirmed out of my arms when he was just 2 months old and fell . I put a heating pad on him of course low setting. He was so so sad and I felt so bad. I just stayed with him and held him all day and night. The next day he was his old self again. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | yes a heating pad will help, when my Lil Prada fell from my bed she broke her hind leg and she would NOT walk on it or put any pressure on it , so I ran her to my son at he vet clinic. she was 14 weeks. Hopefully yours is ok, a lil warm pad and I would call the vet and ask if you could give her anything for the pain if you see that she is in pain. Wishing your baby a Fast healing.. hugs, carmen in nj |

YT 1000 Club Member | Aww I hope your baby is ok. I know this happened to Roxie before too. It's amazing how tough they really are. I think most accidents that happen and result in tragedy are freak things or falling just the wrong way. Most of the time I think it just hurts at first plus it scares them. It's definately better to have it checked out and do like your doing rather then assume all is ok. I like most would probably rather hear from the vet all is ok then hear something else that's not so nice. Hope your baby is up and running like before. |

| Poor baby. A heating pad sounds like a great idea. Let her relax. If she's not limping she may be just frightened. Give her time to come around. Good luck. Prayer's coming that's she will be just fine. |
