| My Yorkie only likes me! I posted a thread a couple of weeks back about how my Yogi would try to bite my boyfriend on our bed. I kept him off the bed, but the behavior worsened. He barks at virtually everyone in the house except for me. When I get up in the morning to greet him, he wags his tail and jumps on me. When my boyfriend does, he barks at him! It's so frustrating because as you can imagine, this sort of puts a strain on the relationship between my boyfriend and Yogi. I don't really know what to do about this one...any suggestions? |

| I had a similar problem when I got married and DH moved in. What worked for us was for DH to do 100% of the care for several weeks. Walking, feeding, petting, treats, snacks, etc. It was really tough for me to not acknowledge Sadie during that time, except to growl Quit! at her when she would be ugly to DH, but it paid off. She accepted him into the pack, and as a leader. We had no more trouble after that.

| Oops Mr Yogi views you as a possession and Thinks that he is top dog in your house That kind of behavior needs to be nipped in the bud right away because it's the beginning of a serious aggression problem He's not to go on your bed Have BF feed Mr Yogi and have BF play with him and give him treats There needs to be a shuffling of the dominance deck in your house

| I got Sugar when he was 17 months old and he hadn't been socialized at all. He was just like your baby. He decided I was his and he growled and snapped at everyone else. He was pretty good with my daughter from the beginning but he acted like he wanted to kill my husband. Whenever he would snap at my husband I would tell him no very firmly and put him down and ignore him. That seemed to help a lot because he wanted to be in my arms at all times. Now he is great with my husband unless I am sitting and my husband is standing and talking to me or comes up from behind me. I'm not the best person to give advice since I never did get the problem solved completely but I do think if I had gotten Sugar as a puppy things would be different. Just make sure he knows that behavior is displeasing to you and as already mentioned a little bribery never hurts.

| Everything helps guys, thanks! I will have my boyfriend do much of the caring for him so he can learn his place. He is developing an aggression problem and we can't have that. At least I know where to start |

| I agree with the above posters... Step aside and allow your boyfriend to take charge of Yogi .Be sure that he offers treats for good behavior. Don't let Yogi on the bed anymore. Yogi needs to learn that he is not in charge !
