| New Yorkie Owner Hi! I just adopted a furbaby and she will be coming home on Feb 27. . . . I decided to name her Libbylu (Libby) . . . this is my very first time owning a yorkie and I'm very excited about it. Is there anything I should know about yorkies? Give me tips, tricks, advice, good yorkie food, shampoo&condionter you use, etc... I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!! -Libbielu08 |

| Congrats on adopting your new yorkie...I received my first yorkie in April last year. He'll be one yr old on the 27th of this month. He is the best dog I've ever had. He is so sweet and cuddley. He can also be onory at times. But that is just part of their nature I'm told. I wouldn't trade him for anything. My yorkie is what some would call a teapot b/c he weighs 16.4 lbs. Of course in my opinion, thats just more to love. I wouldn't trade him for the world. Again congrats adn welcome to YT!

| Welcome to YT... Your life is about to change.... The love you will have for this baby will be undescribable. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would be sleeping with a dog. Now I can't sleep without her. Never would I have ever believed I would miss a dog. Now I can't leave the house without missing her and I never go a night without her. She goes everywhere with me when it's overnight. Never did I think I'd let a dog lick me, and now if I don't get my daily kisses, I'm sad. Never did I think I would spend the money I do on a dog, and now it's her that gets new things instead of me.. Never did I ever, ever, ever think that my hubby would love something more than he almost loves me, but some days I think he's happier to see her than me. but that's ok, because he has enough love for both of us. All this is true!!!! I'm sure our YT friends can add much, much more to this list... Welcome to the world of yorkies...

| i feed milu nature's variety raw medallions. check out their website and see if that's something you want to feed your puppie Nature's Variety i use an oatmeal shampoo for body, tearless shampoo for her face, and a conditioner as well. a lot of yorkies are ok to get a bath once a week, but milu gets dry skin, so i try to wait as long as i can between baths. keep nutri-cal on hand, this is important. i didn't think i would need it, but i needed it many times when i first got milu. it's for when their blood sugar drops too low because a lot of yorkies are picky eaters and do not get enough food/calories. i took milu to puppy class, and took her to puppy socials for socialization. you should look it up online and find out more info about it. let me know if you have more questions.

| Congrats! I'm a new yorkie mom myself. My 2 babies are 14 weeks. Do you have any pictures of your soon to be puppy? I don't have much advice yet, being new and all, but do make sure you find a good vet who's familiar working with toy breeds. I'm having a lot of trouble with that right now. And do not feed any food or treats from the NUTRO brand, this brand has proven to cause illnesses mild to severe for many dogs, my puppy included. Also it's smart to purchase a little bell for your furbaby. The bell is really helpfull so you always know where your puppy is and to help keep them from being stepped on. You'll see what I mean when she comes, they always find a way to sneak near your feet when you have no clue! Congrat's again!

i would also add that you should have a 24 hour emergency phone # and address available. (i save it in my cell phone) just in case something happens and you need to RUSH!

My mistake shes coming home on March 20th - she'll be 10weeks then. But anyways. . . yes I do have a name and its LibbieLu. I have not seen her yet but I have weekly updates from the breeder I'm buying her from. Her name is Debra Ritter - she is such a sweet and nice lady. I have a few photos of her in my album. She is so precious to me even tho I've never seen her I know I will love her so much! | |
