| Scammers I just saw an ad last week for a free yorkie poo. I knew it was probably a scam but I responded anyway as I am looking for a companion for my 12 year old yorkie in the area where I live, preferably a little older but I gave it a shot. As soon as I responded they said they had gone to a show in Michigan and would be there for awhile but that they could ship the puppy for $200. Of course I declined. Unbelievable. Erika |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Unfortunately, the Jerry Springer show is broadcast in many countries, and to many people, that's the average American.

| Dumb enough to answer their ads . I often saw peoples complaining about the yorkies they got . Don't have to be from Africa , Nigeria etc to be a scammer . |

| I love playing along with them, and then telling them I know they're liars.

| Yes, cost them time, make them work, & then sock it to them.

| I got a couple emails from one and they all stopped when I finally emailed back giving them the not so nice piece of my mind. I totally went off on them and haven't gotten an email since.

| That's funny!! You see, I live in Africa and someone in America tried to scam me on a Yorkie pup!! They advertise on Gumtree (which is like Craigslist) and don't say they are out of the country. When I asked for an appointment to see the litter, I got this email back telling me I could have two puppies for less than double the price of one, they would ship them together, and what the shipping cost would be...real cheap, since her husband works for Swiss Air and can get a deal. I'm afraid others here may not catch the scam...the key to me was the unbelievably low price of the puppies...less than half what they cost here. My new baby cost me R5000---$500US. That's the going price for a top quality pup here...I've done enough research and talked to enough KUSA (our version of the AKC) breeders to know. So, when someone in the US kvetches about a puppy scam from Africa, I have to laugh since I am actually in Africa and the scammers who tried to net me are back in the States!! |

| I got the email and the address stated was from New Victoria, and a name of a town which i googled, and was in Africa, but that does not necessarily mean it was Africa, its was a scammer who knows where they are from |

| I just thought it was funny and ironic that someone who is IN Africa was targeted for a fraud by scammer in the US rather than the other way around! |
