| Do you keep hair short? I prefer to keep my girls hair cut short (I think its called a puppy cut) rather than the traditional long hair style. Anyone else do this? It means more trips to the groomer but much easier to keep the leaves out of the hair! |

| We prefer to keep the Boys hair short. It makes grooming them and picking out seed pods a little easier.

| i will be keeping jackson's short! he's about 13 weeks now and its already growing so much it seems, lol. it's not long by any means but i'd like to take him to the groomers once he done with his last set of shots just for a trim, and to cut his nails.

| My first Yorkie, Chip, was always kept in a puppy cut for all of his 13 years. He had a wooly coat, compact muscular body with short little legs and weighed 14 lbs. He always looked so cute. Then when I got Piper I had the groomer give her the puppy cut and she was a 16 week old puppy. The cut did not look good on her. Piper is smalled bone and leggy with silky hair and weighs 5 lbs. She looked naked with the puppy cut. She just looks better in longer hair.

| I always keep mine in the puppy cut. It's so much easier to care for, and always looks nice.

| We keep Biggie in a puppy cut because it is easier to care after and we can trim it ourselves. We only take him to the groomers for a full groom twice a week. We also take him to get his nails clipped, ear plucked and anal gland expressed every few weeks when needed. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | We started cutting short when we found the snow clinged to Eddie's fur badly, but we decided we like it so keep him that way most of the time. I let him get a little longer in the winter to help with the cold. ;(

| Layla's is short too- like Mike said, because of the snow and then in the summer it gets SO hot i try to cut it really short. Another reason i keep it short is that Layla has a curly coat which mats quickly. here is a picture- not her best but she was hot from boating |

| I do. Callie loves to be outside and I could not imagine everything I would be picking out of her hair if I grew it out lol.

| I would love for Pixie to have a shorter cut..everytime I walk her round here she gets filthy because she picks up everything in her coat..I have to rinse her in a bowl of water after every walk...the paths are so dirty round here, muddy and fallen leaves and twigs etc.. it drives me nuts! she never stays clean for very long...when she is clean and groomed its beautiful though...such a tough descision.. although I think she would look very cute in the puppy cut and keeping the longer hair on her head..

| I always kept Teddi in a puppy cut for the first year and a half but then peer pressure got to me and I decided to grow her out (she was the only one with short hair at our yorkie meetups).

| I usually keep Cassi's hair short, but not as short as puppy cut...it's slightly longer. She'll look naked if I trim her hair that short.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Thor has a puppy cut. I think he looks darling and fiesty. Like Piper, he is very skinny and leggy, so I've been thinking about letting the hair on his trunk fill out to make him look bigger. |
