Ramsey does the same thing sometimes. I think its because he is tired and doesnt want to go to sleep. Like when a toddler is tired and they fight sleep.

I don't know how old your baby is - but that is a typical puppy thing - they get over it, but not sure at what age. Rowdy is 6 months old now and no longer has the fits of speed. When he did though, I would take him out and walk him - even when he was too little to walk on the leash (he would follow me) and tire him out that way. Or I just let him run it out in the house when it was OK to do so.

Since I go to bed early, I'd have to give mine a little Benadryl (kidding, kidding). Now that I have two, I let them just run the yard, with me on the porch watching, of course. That's seems to do the trick, since that means about 1/4 acre of running each turn. It's so cute to watch, sometimes Lacey takes a short cut across the yard because her short little legs can't keep up but she catches Lacey and rolls her over by surprise!

Heidi does this thing we like to call the "bunny scoot" because she actually looks like a little bunny hopping around as fast as she can! She tucks her tail and her butt drops down as she runs. She is SO fast, she's like a little gray blur! And the more I laugh, the crazier she gets! I love it... I think it's so adorable.

I have 4 doing that right now cuz Buddha, my daughter's dog is here and it is so hilarious when they get the evening crazies. i am always afraid someone is going to bump their head on the bed frame or something because they chase each other under the bed and they go soooo fast...It's crazy. Yesterday I was outside on the patio which is fenced off and they all four ran by at top speed in out one door and in the other and reversed 5 seconds later and came back out the one door and in the other. Hefner was leading the charge! Don't know why they were chasing him but is very entertaining for me.

whew so good to know my pup isn't possessed We usually go to a safe area that is mostly carpet and just let her run. It's amazing how fast our little rat chasers are isn't it?
