| Hi! I'm popping in cause I need your help! I know its been a long time since I've been here-I'm so sorry and do miss you very much! Life has been crazy for me and I don't get to be on the computer as much as before....but I need your advice now... Vixxen has been itchy for dayyyys now. She scratches so much that she is matting up her long beautiful hair and gets her toenails caught and she can't break free! I kept checking her and yes, I saw ONE flea a couple nights ago! They have NEVER had fleas! But I don't know if this is the only issue? Her skin is so red from all the scratching and she is either losing hair or just pulling it out when her nails get caught?!? Anyway, she has a dr appt tomorrow but do any of you have suggestions? I just read about the Dawn. And also some other names I need to research: comfortis, capstar and excel hydrocortisone spray. Any opinions? Thank you guys!

| If you found one flea, she has fleas. They never travel solo. Poor Vixxen is probably allergic to them which is why she is losing her hair and her skin is so irritated. Your vet will advise you how to treat them when you have your appointment tomorrow. He may suggest a combination of treatments since her skin is so inflamed. |

| I agree - sounds like a flea allergy. The first thing to do is get rid of the fleas - there are a lot of good ideas on YT for ridding your pups & house of fleas. I have found several things work well. She may need an oatmeal shampoo or other special shampoo & conditioner for irratated skin good luck

I cannot add much to this, as Ladymom gave very sound advice. I hope you get to the bottom of Vixxen's itchy problems!

| Thank you! I already use oatmeal shampoo and yes, I am sure there are many more hidden flies! The other girls aren't itching like this so either something else is going on with her and she does have an allergic reaction. I wish there was something I could do right now to help her relax though She seems so miserable....
