| tears toys apart??? Our yorkie is 11 months. Every toy we give him he rips apart. He really just bites and bites until the toy is ripped apart. He will pull the stuffing out, bit the plastic off, or rip ropes apart. Every toy we give him he ruins? Is there anything you can recommend so that he will not ruin all of his toys? |

| Sorry to hear about all the toys your furbaby is going through. How about getting him a rope to chew on. That may last longer than his other chew toy. Just remember, it's always better that he's chewing on his toy, then on the wall or other household items.

| I have a dog exactly like that ! Sydney ( our non yorkie)will tear apart any toy in a matter of minutes , and bones...forget about it One of the only things we have found that she hasn't been able to destroy are the long flatish animals they sell at petsmart and sometimes Target. They are long and flat w/ no stuffing ( they do have squeakers inside) they come in fox's , rabbit's , etc. She has had them for a while and they are still going . I also bought a pack of toys that had a football in it , and go figure she hasn't been able to kill it yet. That is really the only toys she has because she destroys all the rest

| Do you give him any chew things like Bully sticks or bones? Maybe that would wear him down on some chewing that way he doesn't play so hard with his toys.

| He has one rope he can not rip apart, but the rest he finds way to rip them to pieces. It's good he does not bite one thing in our house. The only thing is the expense of toys! |

| Some of mine are bad about doing that too. It sounds like he has a lot of build up energy. Do you give him anything to chew on like a cow ear or a hoof? I like to take old socks and just tie an knot in the middle of them and let them play with that. Stuffed toys don't last too long around here. |

| Turk can be pretty rough on his toys, too, but I'd rather have them shredding toys than something they're not suppose to have. |

| First thing Baron does is go for the eyes!! All his toys are "BLIND". I've sewn them up. Next thing he does is kill the squeeker. None make noise any more. He's 1 year now and loves chewing up anything. I buy him toys for huge size dogs and he chews the heck out of them, But, he can't reach the squeeky part he's only 7 lbs. and his mouth doesn't reach that far around the toy. Try buying bigger toys. It worked for Baron!!

| Kramer does the same exact thing, I now give him an old pair of socks tied in a knot, he has also moved on to my base mouldings and cabinets, when I leave the house he gets crated now or i'm going to need a new kitchen. Everyone tells me he will get over this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |

| Baxter does the same thing. The only thing that I have come up with that satisifyes his chewing need is a hymalian dog bone. It is natural, and so hard that he chews for hours on it. After he is finished with that he plays with toys without destroying them. I have bought the super large dog bone, and they last him for several weeks. It is wonderful. They are expensive though around $9 plus shipping. But it has saved on the toy expense, and furniture also lol. I cannot get over how they have this obsessive chewing nature. You can find them online, which is how I get them as there is only one store in the state of Maine that sells them. And if I am around that area I'll pick some up there too.

| Don't forget that these dogs were bred specically to make short work of rats so they are going to want to tear and rip things apart sorry for being so graphic but if you watch their play ... shaking of the head ... tug of war all this is to kill things quickly You're not likely going to change this behavior in him Be glad he's not doing this to your rugs and curtains I'd suggest getting him rip proof toys .... leather toys ropes things like that i

| I have the same issue with bowie, i thought it was just his babie teeth, but it seems he still tears his toys apart. I agree though, better the toys than my shoes.
