| Look what i found under my tree!! I was going to adopt an adult yorkie this week (a 3yr old). Have been getting myself and my home ready for her for about a month. Anyway, it didnt work out because her family wanted her back. I understand but i was a bit hurt and sad. Anyway, i woke up to find this little guy under my tree!! (i guess hubby felt bad) He is 18 weeks old and weighs about 3 pounds. I have named him "Spike" The name seems to suit him because he seems to think he's bigger than he is LOL Him and my shepherd are already fast friends. I'm amazed at how fast he's aclamating to us. It seems as though he was meant to be part of our family. Anyway, I am finally an officialy yorkie owner and couldnt be happier. Thought id share with you all here - as i have lurked for weeks. I recently viewed a thread about photo (red eye) eye colour and silky/cotton coat, but for the life of me i cant find it again. If anyone knows where it was, I would really appreciate a link. I also have read the threads about size, if im calculating right, he should be about 4.5-5 pounds full grown? Does that sound right? This board really is amazing, I have been trying to soak it all up. |

| Spike is just gorgeous! Congratulations! As far as the eye color, I think it's green/blue is a silky coat and red/orange is a cottony coat. I'd guess he'd be about 4-5 pounds full grown, but it does depend on his lines. Some lines stop growing early, others grow in the second year. His breeder would probably know best. |

| Welcome to YT! Spike is one handsome young man! The thread you're looking for regarding the coat is a "sticky" in the General Forum. Hope that helps.
