| My daughter slipped down ice steps - dropped Kalina!! My daugthter was taking Matty and Kalina outside for their morning ritual and didn't realize that the back steps were a solid sheet of ice. She slid down the steps on her back and managed to keep ahold of Matty, but she couldn't keep hold of Kalina and Kalina fell off the top step and landed hard. I was upstairs and heard my daughter screaming. She was hysterical thinking that Kalina got hurt. Kalina seems to be ok, but she is hopping a little bit and favoring her back leg. I felt her all over and she didn't cringe or cry out, just hopping once in a while. She doesn't have LP, so it isn't that! I am watching her closely and will call the vet if she doesn't seem to be better in a few hours. Everyone please be careful on the ice with your babies. And a Merry Christmas to everyone!!

| Oh no! I hope your daughter is ok! Of course I hope your doggies are too, but first your daughter I bet she will be sore tomorrow. I have taken a couple of nasty falls on my back down stairs (both times when pregnant!) and I am terribly sore for days afterwards! Tell her not to feel too bad about dropping Kalina. You know she was trying to keep her safe.

| My daughter isn't complaining - she said she'd rather break her own neck than have one of the kids get hurt! It could have been much worse - Kalina is twice the size of Matty so it's probably best that Matty wasn't the one dropped. I'm leaving work in a few minutes and I'll check on Kalina and take her to the doctor if necessary. I have 4 gifts to buy on the way home and a salad to make and a cake to bake too!! EEKS! Thanks everyone!

| I am so very sorry. I hope that your daughter and Kalina are both ok. Winter accidents can happen so very fast -- I am so glad to hear that no one was seriously injured. Merry Christmas! |

| So sorry to hear about your daughter's accident I know how your daughter feels, I feel so rotten if I accidently injure one of my yorkies, its very rare but you know how they can be running full speed and stop on a dime Or you are walking them and they eat something they shouldn't... These guys are a lot sturdier then they look, and that is one of the great things about little dogs One time I was riding my bike with Pippin in the basket, and I always thought he was too smart to try and jump out. Well, he saw a squirrel and jumped out and I slammed on the brakes and of course went over the handlebars, dragging poor Pippin a short way. He looked like a mess, but after a trip to doggy ER, he was fine, just bruised and a few cuts with nothing broken. I never made that mistake again. Let us know how it goes. I bet Kalina will be fine. |

| Oh, dear! Is your daughter okay? I know you said that Kalina doesn't have LP, but it can be caused by traumatic injury so you might want to have your vet check her if she's still limping. Christmas Eve is a terrible time for a pet to get sick or injured. |
