| My 2 year old Yorkie is almost completely black! Has anyone run into this before? We have 2 yorkies, same litter. The girl, Lillie is the normal tan and silver, but the little boy, Fetner, has never changed colors. He is almost as black as when he was a pup, excep[t for tan around his face and paws. Is this unusual. They are both AKC and are over 2 years old now, so I don't see him changing much in color. Thanks |

| I think some do not change colors,,, my Winston still has pretty much the same coloring as when he was a puppy, the girls have already started changing. Their ages are Winston - 9 months, girls - 8 months and 3 1/2 months. |

| I do believe that some yorkies keep the black coloring. My breeder has a male that looks like a big puppy because he never changed color

| My boys are just over 3 years old and one changed and one did not. The one that changed color has a silky coat, the one that did not change has a cotton coat. I don't think a cotton coat changes colors.

| Baby Chloe turned 1 in August. She is still black. Last month, her puppy coat started shedding. It is all over my floor in tiny poofs. Her coat is very soft and shiny and does not mat. She does have some new gray on her tummy.

| Either coat type can stay black and tan and either coat type can go lighter shades. I have a lighter colour soft coat Yorkie, now 7 years old. |

| my yorkie has the black coat and you're right it is a cotton coat....she always looked better in a puppy coat than full length....this is a picture from a couple months ago.....she 10 yrs old now and people still think she's a puppy.
