Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | OMG! OMG! What happened!?!?! Ok so I have had Georgia for a little over a year. When I first brought her home she chewed my laptop cords and I realized I must keep her somewhere wire free. But then things got better, she built up my trust in her running free. Yesterday I came home and noticed she chewed my Cell phone charger. Last night while I was sleeping I woke up to her yelping...I checked her over and nothing....I go back to the bed to see what bit her or poked her and noticed a chewed wire that was plugged in. She was electrocuted! OMG!!! I left her home with my boyfriend all day and he said that she is really timid all day. carefully eating and just a lil shook up....poor baby....I read somewhere about bitter apple and PVC piping. So i am going to just put that on everything! |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | oh no! I'm glad she is doing ok!!! How scary! I've noticed a few of my cords with chew marks and I try to keep them away but sometimes they get to them. |

| I think she needs to see the vet. Electrocution can kill them and since she is timid now, there might be an issue. Water build-up in the lungs as also possible and burns in her mouth...

| One of mine chewed my laptop cord in half while I was sleeping when they were pups... it was plugged in too. I didn't hear them crying or anything though. They were in bed when I woke up in the morning snoozing away. Im sooo glad nothing happened, but I definately learned to keep cords away from them now. They are 3 years old now and chewing is not an issue anymore thank goodness!

| One of my customers has a little pompom that was shocked (he chewed a lamp cord that was plugged in) He went to the vet and was fine, but after that he doesn't like for his ears to be touched and he always has bad breath now??

| We were painting one year, and we had the covers off the electrical outlets.. Well, Freeway being the curious dog that he was, decided to LICK the outlet.. lol... he was fine, he yelped like crazy and we called the vet and he said that as long as he didn't have burns and seemed ok we didn't need to bring him in. For the rest of his life, that dog walked on the OTHER side of the hallway.. he refused to go anywhere near it, and stayed a distance from all the other ones too, lol. It was funny, but only because he was ok! His yelping scared the crap out of me.

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | OMG! You are so lucky it wasn't more serious! I would still have her checked out by a vet to make sure there are no burns or any other lasting effects. A very good friend of mine lost one of her yorkies (My Sapphire's furmommy) last year at Christmastime because she was having a party, and someone let her out, and she chewed threw wires on the Christmas tree. They found her dead shortly after the party. So sad!
