Maybe you should put up a trellis or something so your dog can't get under the deck anymore. This would solve that issue.

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I would try to lure her out with a treat or her favorite squeeky toy. Ripping apart the deck should be the last resort.

| Glad she came out. I would not call 911 unless she was hurt or would not come out of the deck for a few hours. I would do whatever I could to get her out...get the smelliest yummiest food or treat possible. If that didn't work..I would go see if a neighbor had a pry bar or chainsaw and cut the crap out of the deck. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | LOL..We'll no wonder she is staying under there. She is trying to catch RABBITS. I do know the SPCA helps in times like these if they get stuck. |

| I think ripping apart the deck is drastic measures. If the dog is hurt, that's another story. But if she's content under there, I'm sure she's fine. If she's freezing, she would probably come out voluntarily. I wouldn't try so hard, just let her come out on her own. My cockapoo, Carmen, goes under our front porch sometimes and you can't sit there and try to get her out, she'll never come. She's too smart. We just act like we're leaving or walking away and then out she comes... she knows if we leave without her, she'll be freezing under there. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | First thing i would do is Block under the Deck, Second thing i would do is teach my dog To Come. People don't realize how important Stay & come is. I would not Bother the police or fire dept. |

| Don't call 911. They will get pissed, and moreover, they probably will not care. What has always helped for me when my dogs wouldn't come is to lay down (face buried in your crossed arms) and pretend to cry. Usually that brings them over, because they either think you're playing or really hurt/sad. |

| When we got Callie before we let her run around the back yard not on a leash we spend days Callie proofing the back yard we put a thick chicken wire like stuff around the stairs so she couldnt climb un them around anything she could possible climb under to get under the deck and any spots in the fence that looked like she could get through it was a lot of work but I feel that its Callie proof in the back yard and that besides hawks and other birds of pray that she not going to get in to anything and get hurt.

| Teaching them to come is extremly important but I took Callie to puppy classes and worked with her at home and she will come to me inside and in her fenced back yard but if she gets out the front door shes not coming to me no matter how many times I call her.

I missed that it was "that" cold. Well considering it was 5 degrees..you are right a few hours would have been too much. I am not sure I would have called 911 though...but might have considered calling the police if no other methods I mentioned worked.
