| Yorkie poos, shorkies, labradoodles! ?? Rant! Its really starting to annoy the he!! out of me! I am really getting tired of these Backyard breeders and puppy mills! I dont know if anybody here accually breeds these so callled "breeds" im sorry if you do, but i hate it! I look at kijiji and stuff like that and all you see is adds for Chorkies, Shorkies, Shnorkies and yORKIE POOS! Im sorry people, but you are paying Hundreds of dollars for a darn MUTT. And worst of all, you are supporting these people that are adding to the pet overpopulation and taking a home away from a shelter pet! Do you realize that you can find these "breeds" In shleters all over america and canada? Most are bought by people on an impulse buy and once they learn how much responsibiliy the dog ACCUALLY is, they dump it. Some of these "Breeders" Are not horrible people, and they THINK they have good intentions but they are still BYBS. Any responsible breeder doesnt breed mutts. Responsible breeders KNOW the differance of it! Pplease add stuff to this thread, becuase i am soo frustrated now i cannot even type right! Im sure i will add some more later! |

| I don't agree with some of the prices of them, I do believe they should be a bit cheaper, some people way over price them, but I think they are just as cute. I was almost going to get a Morkie, and I used to own a yorki-poo. yes they may be a "mutt" but sometimes they may be more healthy and live longer then a "purebred". |

Cuteness has nothing to do with it. Its unethical. Mutts shouldnt have a price on them. Well i guess the ones that are euthed everyday do, ussually about a $60 needle. Health Issues in Designer Mutts

| Who cares if they're "just a mutt?" They're still cute as anything and can be great dogs. Over-priced? A lot of times, yes. But personally, I think purebreds can be overpriced too. Just my opinion. |

| Wow, you have very strong opinions Keely_momma. My roommate has a Morkie and sometimes she's amazing and sometimes she can be frustrating..he hasn't helped her work on her separation anxiety at all hehe. I agree that they're overpriced but they are wonderful dogs. Even so, I don't think that because they're crossbreed that they should be loved any less.. |

| Its not the fact that they are mutts i have a problem with, Its the way people exploit these animals. Using them as cash cows, breeding them over and over agian. Designer breeds are a trend. I jhust dont get it though. Why not a mutt from a shelter. there are millions of morkies, shrokies, shnorkies, etc, in shleters. why support somebody that is adding to the amount of animals being killed everyday by making more mutts when there are thousands of these same mutts in shelters. For sometimes less then 100 dollars for an adoption fee. |

| Some of the prices are quite high, I would never PAY for a dog that isn't purebred (maybe an adoption fee but that's it) BUT... they are adorable none the less and the people who breed them probably won't stop as long as there are people that want them... so why try and take homes from those pups that did not ask to be brought into the world? to me they are just as innocent as the shelter dogs and ALL DOGS deserve a Loving Family.. Mutt or PureBred just the same....They will all love you until the day they die and be loyal as any other breed. |

| I dont agree with breeding designer breeds because there are so many mixed breeds in shelters. To be honest I feel a little bit quilty that I bought pure breds when there are so many dogs put to sleep in shelters. My next dog will be from a shelter though

| I do not think that because they are croosbreedds that they should be loved less. I think that by buying one of thses dogs from a bredder means that there is more demand for them, there fore more dogs will be bred, while these same dogs die in shelters. I volunteer at a shelter, and at the age of 15, i have seen far to much, so yes, i have a very strong opiniion on this topic, and if you had to hold these sweet inncent dogs while they are dying, you would too, have you even see a dog go limp arfter getting "the needle" and falling to the table? |

| I can tell this will turn into a debate. so I will keep it as nice as I can. The shelters are full of "mutts" also, so if you are going to bash one mutt you shouldn't be sticking up for another. I think that this post is a little offensive because theres quite a few moms on here who have mixed dogs. It doesn't mean they are any better or worse. A purebred has papers, a mix doesn't. I wouldn't breed two different dogs on purpose but some people do and yes it is wrong to do for cash flow but I'm sure theres "purebred" breeders who do it for the cash too. Just because you breed mixed dogs doesn't mean you are a backyard breeder, it seems you have a problem with breeders who are making $$ off dogs, but what about the puppy mills full of purebred dogs? It is all the same and you can't jump on people. Mixed puppies ARE CUTE and like the OP said they deserved to be loved just as much as well. So please reread what you say because someone on here who has a mix may be offended. Thank you |

| I have also done volunteer work at a shelter and I know what goes on behind the scene too. You should know that alot of those animals that come in come in BAD SHAPE already too. Some are just too agressive and some are just too sick, yes there is alot in shelters that need homes but they are purebred and mixed. This will probably never stop and there will always be people who will buy the mixed breed dogs, if you feel so strongly maybe you should start some sort of group or something to get people to realize, I am sure starting a debate on a board will not end good. |

Im sorry, i am not trying to be rude, nor am i trying to bash people that hav these dogs, if it seems this way i am truley sorry, on these topics i get worked up, and i beleive i have a right to. I started off merely trying to vety about the breeders, then i started saying some things to maybe try and educate people on the topic about where some people accually get there dogs. Im sorry if ive offended, but i have very strong feeling on this matter.
