| Problems at grammy and grandpys house I take Callie down to my moms ocasionaly so she can get out of the house and be around my moms to beagle mixes and normaly when she was a puppy she would annoy them and my moms overweight beagle would growl at her and now that Callies older I took her down yesterday and they all do very well together no growling Callie just runs over when one of them is getting attention but after about 10 to 15 mintues she wanted me to pick her up all the time and her tail was not up all the way and wagging like normal and my parents have a doggy door thats bigger then Callies at home but she still will go in and out and she is completley potty trained at home hasent pee in the house sense she was 9 mounths old and she is 1 year 7 months old now and she peed in my moms bathroom even tho when my parents would smoke all of us including me (even tho I dont smoke) would go outside but as soon as I put Callie down outisde she would run back in through the doggy door and it was cold and snowy/rainy outside and dark but when she has to go potty she will go out at home. But when I brought her home she murned the rest of the night (she always does this when my parents come by and then leave, I think its mostly because of my parents not her dogs because Callie wants to be the only babie in our house). Somehow her being at my parents house makes my moms boy beagle who is scared of everything and at some point when no one was home had a stroke (face is what we call croked when he gets extremly excited) but he acts like hes braver when Callie is there. I want Callie to be around other dogs and she normaly does but its way to cold to take her to the dog park and I dont want to do anything that makes her unhappy and stresses her. What do yall think? Why is she peeing in my moms house, and why is she keeping her tail down and wanting to be picked up all the time? Sorry so long.

| hmmmm--It sounds like she is afraid of something. Could she have had a scary experience at your mother's house in the past? |

| Maybe its cause the overwight beagle would growl at her when she was younger and now she is scared. When your at your moms house, do as you would when she was being potty trained at your ouse. After she drinks, or sleeps, or plays or eats, take her outside on a leash and stay there until she goes potty and praise her like your a crazy woman! I say leash her becaus e you said that she will just run back through the doggy door. She will eventually get the idea. As for the other things. Maybe she doesnt want to potty outside because that is wher ethe other dogs go and she thinks it is marked as There territory? |

| I would say she is uncomfortable or scared. My dogs act the same way when my Mom brings her small dog to "play". At times he will just go off the deep end and attack my dogs. Boy, do they remember it the next time my Mom comes. Just recently I asked her to leave her dog at home since it stressed my dogs so much and never really knew when he would take after them, and they knew it. They walked on pins and needles around him. Maybe something happens that you are unaware of when they were getting along that 10 or 15 minutes. |

| sounds like she is scared or perhaps confused about where she stands in the scheme of things- at your house she is alpha as far as dogs go and when she gets there she could be confused and maybe is acting submissive to show the beagle that he is in charge? |

| i have no idea why she is afraid. i think people didn't respond to this thread because no one knows why your puppy is behaving this way. i mean , you are there, you are the mom, and you know all the dogs better than others. so if you don't know why she is afraid, then it's hard/impossible for other people to know why she is afraid. i suggest that you watch them interact closely, and not leave your dog there unless you are watching closely(otherwise you won't be able to find out what's scaring her). observe why she behaves like she is afraid. and if she is really afraid, then you shouldn't take her there because it is stressful for her. good luck!

| I know a lot of dogs that are housebroken at their own homes, but, when they go to another house, they pee all over. I've had it happen even at my house, that's why whenever anyone brings their dogs over, they are to stay in the same areas as mine, and aren't allowed on my nice carpet. I figured one room of carpet has already been peed on enough, don't need it in the rest of the house. Do you take your your dog over to your moms very often or just occasionally? |
