| AAAAARRRRGHHH! I own a Yorkie GOAT! I think I own a Yorkie goat. Last week, I dropped a whole eggshell, while I was preparing my breakfast...Chelsea woofed it down, before I could pick it up. All weekend, we have been playing keep Chelsea out of trashcans game. She loves kleenex, paper towel, or for that matter, any paper goods etc., she can get her teeth on. She has "killed"/destroyed many of her toys, she bites, until she gets to the stuffing. She is the proud owner of double amputee bear, bunny, hedge hog, hippo. I have thrown out 4 GOLF balls, that she chewed up, and you know these balls are hard, not to mention what she does to tennis balls. She is 9 months old, and has all her adult teeth. WHY this behavior NOW? Is this a game? HELLLLLLLLLPPPPP, I am running out of apple bitter! I would appreciate any input on this matter. Chelsea'sMom |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | haha....They're FAST with jaws of steel when they want something - sounds pretty normal to me - though I think you do have a chewer - I gave Cheri little sock toys when she was little and she just loves to still run around with them - but she isn't a chewer - unless it's toilet paper then watch out - Don't know what to say except it sounds pretty normal for a puppy - I'm not an expert but mine calmed down on the chewing after about a year old... |

| I agree. Simon was a "goat" (that is hilarious btw) until he was about 1! Just terrorized anything and everything! He stopped chewing up everything and just playing good luck. you could buy stock in apple bitter |

| I can relate to your story! I swear I throw toys out on a daily basis after Maddie has ripped them apart and stuffing is everywhere! She drives me crazy! I've nicknamed her "Shredder" because she's always tearing things apart. Thank goodness it's mostly only toys and kleenex or paper...the furnishings she leaves alone...cept for once when she was trying to shred the carpet off the bottom step! |

| Sully says, "Chelsea, thats baaaaaaaaaaaad" *snort* LOL. Seriously, though, Sully loves anything paper or cardboard....watch out, he will shred it! He's not too bad about it, but from time to time we'll forget and leave a piece of paper on the floor......when we come back the paper is spread out all over the house even, lol.

| I have always said that if we looked back far enough in Tucker's pedigree we would find a goat. He LOVES paper and anything else he can get his mouth around! Forget bitter apple, he loves that too. There is no keeping up with him when it comes to paper. The other day he walked past me with an entire 8 and a half by 11 piece of paper hanging out of his mouth. (He had just the corner the rest he was dragging) I said "Snack time already?" My bathroom garbage can now sits in the tub. He actually pulls pieces of paper down from the computer and chews on them. He will be the classic "my dog ate my homework" when school goes back in. All I can say is....gotta love him!

| Eggshell? Yech! LOL! I wonder if Chelsey enjoyed that cruncy morsel?? Schatzie too pretty much takes on the attitude of "when it lands on the ground, it's all mine!!" And regarding toys....Chews them to smitherings! Stuffing's out, squeekers inside lost, etc. Very very agressive chewer she is.

| Indy is a goat too! Loves any paper products. He was sitting on the sofa with me the other night, hubby was sitting on the other end. In the middle was a pile of magazines that hubby was trying to go thru and read. I got up to go to the bathroom and heard in a very loud voice "Indy, cut it out!!" When I came back Indy had chewed the corner of one of the magazines and hubby was muttering about MY dog's manners. However, there was a pretty gross incident. The farmer out back cut the hay field in June. We were standing at the edge of our yard watching a family of foxes having a ball rummaging thru the field. I took my eyes off of Indy for a couple seconds to watch and he went into the field. I yelled at him and he came booking past me and all I could see was the back end of a meadow vole sticking out of his mouth. Do you think i could catch him??? No way. He wolfed the whole thing down before I could get a hold of him. GROSS!!! Thought he'd get sick and throw it up, but he never did! Now I'm very vigilant when he's out, I don't trust him!! OOPS!! Too funny, he just went booking by me with a streamer of toilet paper!!!!! |
