| white Why is my yorkie so white/silver??? When we got her.. she had a little bit of silver in her, but not much.. her mom was covered in silver.. but we didn't know this until we purchased her cause it was a breeder from a different state. She's still gorgeous to me.. but I thought yorkies were suppose to be tan/black. Hair hair on the back is black.. but the roots are silver/white, and the hair on her head is turning white. Does anyone else have a yorkie that looks like this? Heres some pictures of her at 3 mnths, and now 8 months. |

| It's too soon to tell. She won't have her adult coat and colors until at least 2 years old. My baby Gracie (RIP my angel!) was sooooo beautiful and had a silver back.

| Our dog did the same thing. He always had a little white on his head, but we were gone one day and he was at my moms and he came home looking like a skunk his whole head was white. Both of his parents are silver so I figure he's gonna be too. The first picture is him now (14 weeks) The second is him about 4-5 weeks ago.

| Your baby is very cute! Teddy too is very light. His black is almost all gone off of his face now and he is like a blond color. Which works because all of my kids were little toad heads! I guess it wouldn't matter if he were purple with green polka dots I don't think I could love him anymore than I do...

| Sully is doing the same thing, and like you, we didn't get to see his parents when we bought him. (But I had done extensive research on the breeder and asked her a million questions, etc.)

| Aww, thank you! Sully, despite his other characteristics that are not breed standard (9lbs, floppy ears, long-torso).....he's the shiniest, silkiest coat I've ever seen! We just got lucky with him....and I wouldn't change anything about him for anything! ....btw, have you tried the CC stystems? It's supposed to do miracles on any yorkies' coat. We ordered it and it should arrive tomorrow! Not that I can imagine Sully's coat getting much better, but....WE SHALL SEE!
