Help!!! This is a duplicate to a thread I posted in the "Training" forum and haven't gotten any replies, so I thought I'd try here, too! Drake is 8 months old and potty trained to use pee pads, which is how I originally wanted it to be! I trained him by using a crate in the beginning! It took a while, but we made it! He was neutered at a VERY young age...like 2 or 3 weeks! I was told since he was so young that he would never hike his leg or go through the "marking" stage and up until now, that was true! He has always been inside unless he goes "bye bye" with me and when my hubby was on vacation for 2 weeks, he took him outside constantly for long periods of time! I noticed that he would walk behind our other dog, Harley, who is a yorkie/poodle mix but more like a standard poodle because he weighs 22 pounds! Anyway, Drake would walk behind Harley and when Harley would stop and hike his leg to pee, so would Drake! It was funny at first when he was doing it OUTSIDE!! He wouldn't always hike...just sometimes! Now he's been hiking his leg in the house and would do it on his pee pad, which was also cute while it was JUST on the pad! Now he's been going around peeing on everything and not just hiking his leg but also just squatting and doing it and sometimes right in front of me while I'm standing there watching him! There have been a few times that he pees while he's walking/running cuz there will be drips clear across the floor! I have stopped him and taken him to his pad numerous times, have ignored it numerous times and have even spanked him for it but nothing is working! I don't understand why all of a sudden and don't understand why the discipline isn't working! He did so good for months! I thought maybe it was just because he was learning to hike from seeing Harley do it but like I said sometimes when he pees on the floor, he squats! I'm at my wit's end with this....I don't know what to do!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!! Any and all suggestions/opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I got Drake when he was 9 weeks old and he was already neutered! The breeder I bought him from neuters at a VERY young age! I can't find the reply someone sent regarding this....my other thread must have been removed because I posted the same exact one in 2 places, therefore, I can't reply directly to it, but I just wanted to say in response that maybe he wasn't 2 or 3 weeks old at the time, but he was definitely younger than 8 weeks because he was already neutered when I was communicating with the breeder! As for the belly bands, I've read that it seems a lot of people on here use them or have used them....that's definitely worth a shot! I was thinking that my only other alternative would be to start from scratch with the potty training all over again! Also, maybe I should have pointed out in the first place that my daughter who lives in the same town as me just had a new baby....could it be jealousy? And, by the way, this is my very first grand baby....a girl, Kenley Nicole! :-) I feel like I give him just as much attention because I didn't want something like this to happen since I knew it was definitely possible, but maybe it wouldn't matter what I do or don't do.....if that is even the problem! Although he is really aggravating me with this, I love him to pieces and will do whatever it takes to get us both through this!

Sorry to hear about the potty problems. I would take him to the vet to make sure he does not have an infection anywhere that could be causing this. All the best!
