Hmm...My izzy is almost 1 year and her ears are floppy. I wanted them to stand because they were standing when I first got her. I havent had them shaved yet cause I was kinda nervous about it. If I get them shaved will she still have a chance to have upright ears?

I just bought me a trimmer the other day at walgreens for $10, and it worked wonderfully on her ears and rump. I had never used one before and was really nervous, but, I actually did a really good job on it. I heard if they're not up by 6 mos, they probably won't come up. The hair should have been trimmed off of them when she was still little. I know my biewer that is a little over 6 mos still has floppy ears, they're up one day and half over the next. I keep retaping, but, she's getting tired of having tape on, and I'm getting tired of messing with them. I have seen hers straight up before, so keep hoping it's the teehting as well, and that they will eventually come back up

Junior's ears are doing the same thing. he will be 16 weeks DEC. 24th!
Im just going to leave them alone and let nature take its course... i think he looks cute..lol

Yea...that's what I decided to do too. I took her to a yorkie party last weekend and she started holding both ears up after that. Now, some days both are up, some days not. Most of the time she has both up now.

How did you trim them? The inside of the ear or inside the ears and the tips of the ear? We have one ear up and one down at 16 weeks. She looks really cute and the vet says its because she is teething, but this one ear has never been up. I also bought a trimmer but I'm really scared of messing up! Thanks

I just love the one ear up, one ear down look - it's so cute! Both of Nikko's ears are up though, and I think that's cute too... he looks half rabbit. :-)

When I first got Keoki at 6 months both of his ears were up but now at 1 year he has one up and one down and thats the way they are staying. It bothered me at first but now I love it- It is who he is

I have been trying to tape my yorkies ears for a few weeks. they were flopped over nicely and now after taping them a few times they will stand for a few hours but now when they fall.....they fall off to the side of the head. i get a good laugh about it but just want them to flop normal again??? Is this a problem for anyone else???

My izzaboo's ears never stood again.

I didnt tape them because I waited too late. I got her at six months and it wasnt until she turned one that I realized I should have kept them tipped, and taped. So...she has floppy ears. Sometimes she will raise them but mostly theyre floppy...and I dont mind...shes adorable.
