| Saved a doggy today!! So hubby was taking Stormy outside today to get some fresh air and there was a maltese running in the middle of the street, it is a busy main street and it was raining too so he called the dog over and brought her inside! She was shaved nicely and looked well taken care of so we thought she obviously has a home and decided to keep her inside and find her owners. She had one tag but it was so worn out that we couldn't make out any information, just one vet office that was about 40 mins away. We were heading out that way today so we went by the vet but they were closed. Hubby looked up on line another animal hospital in our city and luckily the family had contacted this vet since it is a 24/7 one and let them know they were missing a dog, someone had tol them they seen her out in the street in the traffic so they thought maybe she got hurt and was brought in. Well we contacted the owners and it turns out she lives just across the street, I never knew because they just moved in a month ago and I've never even seen the family around before much so I didn't know they had a dog. Thankfully we found her home, she was such a smart amazing dog though and we all enjoyed spending the day with her, even Stormy liked her! So We will definitely be adding another member to our family hopefully around spring time!! I LOVED having two dogs, I had them both cuddling me on the couch and it was awsome, I've never had two dogs before but I'd love another small dog!! |

| Good for you! I know they were so happy to get their dog back! Maybe your doggies can have play dates since they got along so well.

| I wish my neighbours were more like you. When our pug dog slipped through the fence into our neighbours yard, they loaded her up in their car and dropped her off at a park that wasn't even in our neighbourhood!

| Holy cow....what a couple of morons. What is the world is wrong with some people. How would they have liked it had you found their child and dropped him off at a park? Idiots.

| I just read this and had to comment. Our pug wandered off one day, just down our street, and our neighbor--who had been our neighbor for several years and who had several dogs of her own--picked our pug up and took him to the pound! I wouldn't have been so angry EXCEPT that our pug was over 13 years old, had dry eyes (lots of gunk build up that had to be cleaned and medicated regularly), and was almost completely blind. In addition, he had severe skin problems. Imagine our poor baby spending a cold lonely night away from his family at that age for the first time!! My daughter was heartbroken--he was her dog and she was supposed to be watching him when he wandered off! She was about 18 so old enough to be ashamed but young enough to cry. To make matters even worse, the people who ran the pound opened up to let her drop him off but wouldn't release him back to us that same day (they were still there), even seeing his medical condition. Good neighbors are a blessing! |

| My pug is a senior too with Spondylosis. She doesn't walk very well. I agree, "good neighbours are a blessing"

| Oh wow I can't believe the two stories about the pugs! That is just horrible!! I thought this dog was alot younger but turns out she was 7 years old. I just knew when we brought her in that she was someones baby and I couldn't imagine Stormy getting out and not being able to find her! We live in a pretty good area but still my dads friend lived in our building and his mini poodle got out and noone returned or called when they were looking and had posters up. About 5 years ago I had taken our boxer that lives with my mom to the park and I had her off the leash running around, she was very good when I did this but someone came in with a pitbull that ran and tried to attack her so she ran as fast as she could and was gone so fast that I couldn't catch up. We looked for her for a little over a week, had posters up everywhere in the area, I spent two days walking down the streets with pictures just trying to find her, put it in the papers and everything and NOTHING. I thought of the idea of putting that she needed medication in the paper so someone would get scared to keep her and it worked! Someone called and asked what kind of medication she needed, and then they called back and said they had found her but wanted to keep her because they liked her! Eventually they gave her back and we were so thankful, so I know how it is to loose a dog and not have good people who will return your dog. And we will definitely have playdates, The dog has a son that lives with them and the man told me that these two dogs are their babies because they are an older couple and did not have children of their own. He was so kind, they own a resturant around here also and gave us a gift certificate to go have dinner there! |
