| Hi and Welcome! I have one of each, and I have to say that boys are much more cuddly and clingy. Don't get me wrong, girls are precious too, but boys make better lap dogs I think. At least it is that way at my house. Welcome to YT! You'll find great information here.

| I have a male and a female and my female is more cuddly. I think you should pick the pup that has the personality you want rather than if it is a male or a female

| My little boy is so snuggly! At night especially...sometimes I have to physically move him away from me because I'm scared I'll roll over on him! He's always stuck to my side! |

| I don't have a male yorkie--but I have a female...and I have one other male dog and 3 females total... My boy is happy go lucky, wants to please, and very playful. He's not a cuddler. My girls are very sweet, cuddly---but they are stubborn and they are very fun. I personally like girl dogs...but I like boys, too!

| To me it's a toss up. I have had cuddly males and cuddly females. My male bichon was my cuddliest dog ever. (RIP Barney). My female yorkies are both puppies and one is very cuddly only when she sleeps with me and the other will cuddle any time you pick her up. I have a male poodle that is not in any way cuddly unless I force myself on him LOL. He sleeps as far away from us as he can get at night. I would pick the puppy based on its personality, not its sex if it were me. |

| Its pink for me! I have a female only (no male to compare). When Bailey was a puppy, she had her own bed for night time sleeping, so during nap time, she'd sleep at the foot of my recliner. Ever since we started letting her sleep in bed with us, she became the biggest cuddler and now she HAS to sleep in our laps for naps. I'm not complaining - I got EXACTLY what I wanted. Good luck!

| Hi, I like both boys and girls. My suggestions include the following: If you want just a pet, I would fix a boy and he would be great with no worries about the lifting the leg thing. A boy is generally cheaper than a girl puppy. Size wise, check out the parents and if one is too big for you, do not get a puppy from them. Tiny puppies come in both sexes. Spend some time if possible with the parents of the puppy and the entire litter before making your decision on one. You will be able to tell a lot about them and be able to make a better decision for yourself! Enjoy the process and your new puppy! |

| I have had both...but like others have said I would go for the one that's personality is what you're looking for!!!! I actually enjoy my girl yorkies...I get to play dress up!!! My Daizy wasn't much of a cuddler until we got Tulip now I can't get her off my lap! lol But boys can be just as cuddly! It all depends on the dog...not necessarily the sex of the dog. Good luck and share pics when you get your little baby!!!

| I have one of each. We originally wanted a girl, but when we got to the breeder's, a boy stole our heart. Several months later, we got the girl. In this instance, the girl is more of a cuddler. She's about 4 lbs. The boy is my shadow: never far away - always close. But I don't think he was properly socialized as a baby . He does the best he can, and is getting better. He's just different. He's just about 7 lbs. The boy is *horrified* if I try to dress him: he freezes in his tracks and won't move. Bella, on the other hand, *loves* to play dress up, and looks peeved when we take her dress off. Each pup is its own being. It's not that boys are more attentive or that girls are ... they're individuals. Go with an open mind, and leave with the one who steals your heart. |

| Gender really has very little to do with it! As others have said, all dogs are individuals and it totally depends on who THEY are. I have a male cavalier king charles spaniel and a female yorkie mix and they are totally different! Look for an ethical breeder who breeds for health, breed standard and temperament and you will find the pup who steals your heart!

| When I decided 'we' (LOL) wanted a yorkie, it was going to be a girl. My husband was fine with that. But when we got to the breeder I spent time with Samson and his sister and fell in love in love with Samson. My husband still tells me (1 year later) that he's so glad that we picked Samson. He plays so much with my husband and is such a cuddlebug with me. Go by the personality of the puppy - that will be what's important
