| Help, My baby is bored. Gypsy just turned one and her hunting instincts are showing. She went from playful swating at bugs to full on hunting them. She is also determined to eat my niece and nephews hamsters. When we go over there she runs straight to their cages. I figure she is just getting back to her roots and wants to hunt. Does anyone have a suggestion as to maybe a toy or a game i can use to help her express her need to hunt?

| I don't know if you can get them to find something else to do instead of hunt. That is their nature. I'd advise to keep all hamster, gerbils up and behind closed doors! Or they may Good Luck!

| I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who would have been great to train to hunt (if I were a hunter!) - My 12 pound dog actually has caught a bird (he looked so surprised and looked up at me with the bird in his mouth like "Mom? What do I do?" I yelled DROP IT and he did and the bird flew away... Anyway, I do a variety of things...and I suggest the Hide a Squirrel toy in small for your baby! Hide A Squirrel Animal Puzzle - Dog Supplies I also taught him to play fetch. We now spend a lot of time fetching... We also do other obedience training, basically anything to stimulate the brain and keep the pup active with lots of positive reinforcement will help redirect the energy. I cannot have my dog be catching birds!! LOL! I am a CITY GIRL! My Yorkie mix has none of these instincts. She is a diva through and through...LOL. I love all their different personalities!

| The animated cat toys work too! I use those for him as well! Also, anything mechanical that moves on its own... The only problem with the squirrels is my Cavalier likes to 'kill' them, so I end up with a lot of shredded squirrels! LOL
