| Let's Play a Guessing Game? What do you think... I think most of you have met my GUCCI and I, now I am curious as to what Gucci's height and weight will be 3 months from now or full grown if you have an idea... he is 12 weeks and here are his stats.. Height at the withers - 6 inches Length from neck to base of tail - 6.5 inches Weight - 3 lbs. 2 oz I hope I measured him correctly, I didn't use a ruler just a measuring tape ..Now from what I was told when I bought him, he was estimated at 3-4 lbs full grown , he was very tiny when I got him about 1 lb he ballooned in 2 weeks time ...lol he has already almost passed his estimated full weight at 3 months haha my little fatty man! Height/Length/Weight he looks very short and stout , I think it's his build... What do you think he will top out at, at say 6 months or full grown if you are good at guessing... I don't care either way since the only dogs I have are pitbulls lol ...as long as my Gucci man is smaller than them we are good! My husband and I are just very curious! Also, do u think his proportions are good? Last edited by annamalyssa; 11-26-2008 at 05:39 PM. |

| I guess seven pounds. The rule of thumb for yorkies (that sometimes works ) is triple the weight at eight weeks, double at twelve (some people add a pound to the twelve week so that's why I'm guessing seven).

| so how do they grow height wise maybe 2 more inches or less than that? I know they say height wise they stop around 6 mos. I am not too concerned on the weight, I am actually trying to get a carry bag for him but I don't want to buy another later so an estimate on his height will help a lot thanks again I appreciate it... |

| Weight is discussed a lot here but height not as often so that I don't know. Yorkies vary so much. Mine have ended up with super model legs and you'd never have known it by looking at them as puppies. If you know what his parents (and further back even better) look like you might have a better idea of what he'll be like.

| Your baby is ADORABLE!!! I'm not sure what your little one will end up. Sometimes they can stop growing by 6 months and others might have a late growth spurt. My one girl Trixie was around 3 lbs. at 12-14 weeks old and now she weighs 4lbs. and is over 3 years old. According to the chart she should have been around 6 lbs. Trixie stopped growing around 6-7 months in length and height. I'd say she was around the same length and height as your baby at 12-14 weeks and now she's about 9 inches in length and height about 7. My one other girl Paisley was tiny as a puppy. I think she was slightly over 1 lb. at 12 weeks. I'm not sure of her weight now but she's VERY chunky and seriously needs on a diet. Her frame is smaller then Trixie's but she's the same length and height as Trixie. However, I'd say she's around 4 1/2- 5 lbs. and should only be 3 1/2-4. She had a later growth spurt. I think she finally stopped growing in length and height at around 15 months. You just never know with these babies. They can really shock you!!

| yeah I noticed that weight is talked about a great deal on here... So far he is pretty square looking ... if that makes sense.. he's the same tall as he is long pretty much and his legs are stout. I know with my pitbulls you can tell how big they'll be at about 4 months .. these little yorkies are so confusing to me :/ |

| They like to keep us guessing! Square is good. That is how a yorkie is "supposed" to look.

| Thanks! he is my little Pumpkin Noodle lol.. he likes that name ... He likes it better than GUCCI lol... he doesn't even listen to that name. I think you are in a good range for weight, I thought about 5-6 as well. Got any guesses for Height? I'm not sure if you read above on one of the other replies I made, I want to purchase a carrier for him, however, I DO NOT want to purchase another when he gets older so I am trying to get an idea of the size I need. Thanks Again!! |

| Gucci is totally adorable! I love the picture with him in the camo shirt. I'm guessing he'll be around 7 pounds. Tucker was exactly 3 lbs 2 oz when we brought him home at 14 weeks and he is about 7.5 pounds usually (we're up to 8 right now with his "winter weight") at almost 2 years old. He was a pretty "square" puppy but he grew to be a little more "rectangular" as he is a tiny bit longer than he is tall now.

I have noticed some people say that their pups started even and then grew longer than tall... How tall is Tucker at the withers? Thanks! | |

| Thank you for your compliment! I think he's adorable too (but I am totoally biased!) I don't have an album for Tucker but I attached some pictures for you to look at. Unfortunately, I didn't take his measurments when we first brought him home so I'm not sure how much he has grown in relation to when he was a puppy but his current measurments are 10" tall, 12" long and around his chest, right behind his legs, is 14". I'm not sure how scientific these measurments are as I used a measuring tape and he was a little wiggly but I think they give you the general idea! **The puppy picture is with an 8-inch rope toy as a reference and was taken about a month after he came home, so...18 weeks or so. (It was after his first haircut which was not so cute).
