Yorkie Talker | I need help please Hello my is Tanya and I have two 1 year old yorkies. The male named Denim who weighs 7 pounds and the female named DeZigner who weighs 11 pounds. Recently I have noticed that DeZigner has hanging nipples and she has gained 3 pounds. She had her ist heat in October and it was not my intention to mate her. When I got denim from the breeder I was informed that he was nuetered as it also say on his papers. Well I found out from the vet on yesterday that he is not fixed. I amso upset. I haven't had a chance to take DeZigner to the vet yet because I cant afford to take them together. What are the signs to look for. I cant take her to the vet until this Saturday. I know that I will receive some negative comments but please beleive me it was not my intention to breed her until she was two years old. Last edited by Tanyag812; 11-25-2008 at 05:59 AM. |

| Hi...here is a website that will help: Canine Reproduction Video and Book on Breeding and Whelping dogs by Debbie Jensen for dog breeders and Whelping Supplies needed to deliver puppies. You will find information and videos there that will tell and show you what you need to know about heat, pregnancy and whelping. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Just wanted to wish you lots of luck. Raising a litter is expensive. You should have you male neutered right away hopefully shes not pregnant. |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | The breeder told you he was neutered? Have you gone back to breeder to tell her she was mistaken? How old was he when you got him? Seems very strange to me, but hopefully, things will work out. If she is pregnant, I suggest to read as much as you can about whelping. You can never be too prepared! Good luck to you!!

| Some states will neuter them between 5-6 mos. and some will do it before then. The thing is she was lied too, and I too would be getting in touch with the breeder you got him from |

Yorkie Talker | I guess she saw a fool coming. I got him when he was 10 weeks old from his breeder. On my papers that i received from her says that he is fixed. I feel like such a fool. I've called my vet and she said that if she is pregnant and her last heat ended the first week of October than she may be far along. All I can do is to continue to give her all my love a support and be there for her. As for Denim he is getting fixed at the Humaine Society because Its free of charge and after DeZigner's possible litter she will be getting fixed too. |

| Oh man...what a mess, but I am happy you are so supportive to the (possible) mommy-to-be...I know nothing about whelping, so I am sorry I can't help you there...Keep us up to date and to the breeder who told you he was neutered....One question - is there anything 'down there' - I mean, is he un-descended or something?? Because I was so happy when I neutered my boy as before he was snipped those two little hangy guys were ALL I could see and I avoided touching or getting near them at all costs. Call me prude - but I am not a fan of the intact male!!! LOL

I am glad to hear that your fur babies will be getting fixed. It is best for them. Are you going to adopt out the possible babies? If so make sure you screen for good parents. I am sure a good breeder on here could tell you what kinds of things to ask to make sure the babies get good homes! | |
