| microchip and bully sticks. 2 topics in one I figured I'd save some space and put both questions in one thread When I took Lucie to the ER-Vet for her worms naturally they started sending me reminder cards in the mail. They have sent me one twice now reminding me to get her microchipped. I never had Duke done, it just seemed weird and un-natural (no offense to those who have theirs chipped) to stick a chip in them..Now I am starting to wonder if maybe I should have them done..Any thoughts? Also Bully sticks..I bought a little barbell one today for Lucie, it caught her interest when we were picking up a bag of food..It has been entertaining her for a good while now. But the darn thing was $3, it seems so expensive for such a small thing....Is this an average price for them? And how long does one normally last for the small babies? she's been chewing for a good hour or two and has barely made a dent in the knotted ends of it.

| Definitely get Lucie a microchip. It's not too late. It can be done any time, at any age. Bully Sticks are "expensive", but worth the price if she enjoys it. Be aware that not all Bully Sticks are equal. So, stick with a winner.

| Hot Rod was microchipped when we got him and Maggie will be when she gets spayed. Better safe than sorry is how I feel about it. It is a small investment for peace of mind. My two LOVE bully sticks. We've had to limit them to a couple hours a day now because they would just chew and chew and chew! They now seem to play a lot more together too. I got my last batch from yt member AMD. They don't smell! And they were much better priced!

| I have to agree with mom to hot rod. You should order them from AMD. Awesome prices, they don't smell, and they last a long time (unless you have a hard chewer). Some yorkies have been known to chew them down quick! My fur baby will take almost a week to finish hers. She only gets one a week, maybe she knows this and tries to save it! LOL

| Great information. I purchased some for Lacey. She loves them, but the smell was awful. I would like to order some from you. Which are best, the smooth or braided? Thanks. |

| AMD--are the 12" one's supposed to be $.01? Just asking because I'd hate for you to lose money over a typo. |

The straight and braided are the same bully sticks. The braided is better if you have an aggressive chewer. It's 3 in 1.

I have three kinds of 12" sticks, which are broken down individually on the page in a drop-down bar. The added price is shown. 1¢ is just the starter price because all three of my 12" are different prices. Thank you for asking!! Last edited by AMD; 11-26-2008 at 02:40 PM.

| Harley got chipped yesterday when he was under for his neuter. My husband didn't understand the need for the chip when he doesn't go outside without being carried by an adult or on a harness and leash, and is never left outside by himself. I feel better knowing "just in case" since he does get professionally groomed and sometimes goes to daycare. I did decide to wait until he was being neutered because my vet told me that it sometimes bothered the little guys because the needle is larger than what would normally be used on him. As for the bully sticks, I have never tried them with Harley so I can't help! Jeri and Harley |

| Teddy is getting microchipped in 2 weeks with his neuter for the "just in case" factor, also there was a post on here about a stolen puppy and if that ever happens you can notify everywhere in your area and every yorkie will be checked to make sure they are with their owner. I mean it's an unlikely scenario but I feel safer having him chipped its up to you ultimately. As for the chew toy.. its the only one Teddy pays any attention to I'm assuming you're speaking of the rope? I put it under water for a minute and then put it in the freezer and he loves that.. he loves ice too.. he's teething |
