| What age... What age does a yorkie pup begin to grow in its silvery adult coat? My pup is still awfully black at 2 months old. He has really good tan points, a white star on his chest, and he's starting to develop a blaze of silver on his head, but that's about it. What age did your pup begin to change color? |

| Wow, that's much later than I thought! I think he might stay mostly black though and just get silver around the face. He has a "cotton coat"... |

| Some Yorkies remain back and tan. My breeder told me that I adopted a black and tan Yorkie. The only color change I noticed on my dog was that some of his tan hair appeared to be turning a golden color. |

| Has anyone ever heard about how to tell what color your pup will be? The breeder I got Maximus from put him as a 041 (blue and gold) on his AKC registration. She said the way she was told was that if their skin is blue under their black coat, then they will be blue. I don't know how the gold and tan is determined. If I'm not mistaken Maximus' dad is a black and gold and his mommy is a blue and gold. Maximus is 11 weeks old and he is starting to get a few silvers on the top of his head, but for the most part, he is still black.

| I always wanted to know how breeders could tell what color a Yorkie will be has an adult since Yorkies usually change colors once they reach adulthood too. |

| WOW Molly is beautiful!!!! My Daizy is very similiar in color to her...however her coat isn't shiny!!! I'm also trying to grow it out....and its not hardly growing at all!!! Yet my sisters little girls hair is getting pretty long! She told me that Daizy is a silky....since Daizy's hair isnt' growing and she's very solid...her yorkie is really delicate..and her hair is growing long..so her yorkie is supposedly a reg. yorkie...Is that true? Sorry not trying to hijack your thread...lol just curious about this
