| Yorkie Ears Hi all... I need some info on the ears... My Daisy Mae's ears are not erect yet. She is 4 mos. old and had her very first grooming last week, but her ears have not changed a far as her being able to hold them up. Any one have advise/info on what I can do? Or is there anything I can do? Thanks, Kathy |

| My little girl is 9 weeks. Her ears are floppy as well. I wouldn't be disappointed if they stayed that way. I have read about having them shaved but hate to have to find a groomer right now just for that. Do they eventually stand up on some pups and at what age? |

| I looked at them and I don't think they did shave them, just trimmed them. That may be the reason....hmmmm? |

| Thank you for the information on ears. I am a first time Yorkie owner to SophieKate who is 5 1/2 months old. Her ears to do not stand up, the tips flop over. I am fine with it, I like her ears but I did wonder why they were not standing up. |

| If they haven't stood by them selves at 4 months you don't have a lot of time to make them stand. You must shave ALL the hair off the ears, inside and out and then tape them. Use masking tape, the wide one a piece in the front and piece in the back and then when you have both ears taped, tape them together to hold up. Leave this for a few days, take off the tape and if they still aren't standing do it again, but this time leave on longer. Good luck

| Some ears do not stand up, because they are big or heavy. I had to tape my dog's ears for them to stand. If you tape them before they are six months, then they usually stand up. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | How old is the oldest? Beyond 5 months or so...it's unlikely the ears will stand even with taping.

Daizy is over 10 months now....I started asking way to late about her ears...so I just resigned myself to having one of each.. But I did want to know how to do it just in case Tulips ears drop once she starts teething. My daughters pups ears were standing straight up...until she started her teething..now they are down...she loves her pups ears down...is there any way to encourage them to stay down? LOL

Tape 'em down. Many times the weight of hair on their ears is the sole reason they're not up...so I guess she could not cut the hair and hope for the best. Ramsey's were up when I got her...then went down...but both popped back up on their own.
