| Teddy Suddenly Peeing Inside So this last week and a half teddy has peed in the house more times then when i first got him! I've had him 7 months and he until now had only peed in the house like 5 times(usually out of fear) but lately he will pee when I'm not home(which he had NEVER done before). and he had just peed in our bedroom while standing RIGHT beside me!! i take him outside Maybe I'm not taking him out enough because of the cold weather but usually he's good at holding it in or good at bugging me until i take him outside(usually he begs and begs ALL day for me to take him out so he can welcome home our neighbors or go outside an dplay with a neighbors dog.. I live in an apartment). He only gets water after playing outside and when he's being fed and maybe a small bit in between because I don't want to give him too much water but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Are there any tricks where I can get him to stop I mean besides the obvious of taking him out every hour. I also have decided to put down one of his old puppy peeing pads to see if he'll use it while I'm gone I stopped putting them out because he would only use them once in a blue moon and then the rest of the time he'd eat them. i don't mind coming home and having to clean up alittle pile of poop (I'm at work sometimes during his schedule of bathroom time) but pee is another story thats something thats hard to get rid of the smell where as he poops on the linoleum so it's just a flick of the mop and wa-la no problem.

| Is Teddy neutered? If not, he could be marking. If he has been neutered, suspect an urinary tract infections and have your vet check him out. A previously housebroken dog who suddenly starts peeing in the house usually has a medical reason. |

| Yes, definately check for UTI but he should have water available at all times. If he is not getting enough water it may predispose him to UTI'S or bladder stones |

| awwe ok well then i don't feel so bad now I'll have to take him to the vet on monday and see if thats the issue with him. It's an easy fix poor little guy today is his 1st b-day too!! hopefully thats what the problem is if not I'll just take him out every so many hours to get him use to the idea of going outside only again(if for some reason he's forgotten). oh and by the way he is nuetered I had that done as soon as he was old enough! and he pees in puppy squat. I won't let him go near objects to lift up his leg on them. I do that for this very reason.. if he ever got into peeing in the house I know he won't do it on my books or couch. Lucky for me a neighbor has a carpet cleaner and she says if I need it she'll let me borrow it.

| If it doesn't turn out to be a UTI he is getting to the age where he starts pushing boundaries. He's a teenager so he might be wondering why he has to go outside. Then it's a matter of going back to basics and only tolerating the behaviour you want - he might need a bit of reinforcement that he's only allowed to pee outside. He's still young - don't be too hard on him!
