| Possibly ate toilet paper This morning I woke up to a mess of toilet paper all over my living room floor and bedroom floor! I was upset at first but today Maximus has been very sluggish...so now I'm wondering how horrible is it if he ate any? It looked like he just tore it to shreads and made a mess. He hasn't gone potty this afternoon and this morning it was little balls of yellow and green...is this really bad? He's a 14 lb Yorkie...

| My dog eats toilet paper off the rolls, paper towels, homework (this has caused some problems in the past...), and more. He usually has rope poos when this happens but we try to prevent this by closing the bathroom doors and keeping trash in cabinets or with lids. He is a 28 lb Cocker. A small Yorkie wont be a problem since he/she would be too small to reach to toilet paper!! Glad your Yorkie was fine ! |

| You have a toilet paper obsessed yorkie! I have one too, I swear mine will rip up any toilet paper on the roll, in the basket , any paper that falls on the floor is his. Just this weekend I went to walmart and bought a trashcan with a lid and a toilet paper roll cover! He has been out of luck now lol. Don't worry I think they do it more for fun, they don't really eat it.

| Darn little paper shredders !!!! lol Mine will steal the Kleenex out of my husband's shirt pocket and tear it up. She seems possessed when it comes to toilet paper, paper towels and kleenex.

| When we first got Callie and my grandparents where out of town and it was just my mom and me here with Callie we would leave the bathroom door open to pee and Callie would fallow me or my mom into the bathroom and sit in front of us watching us and at first it kinda was weird ( not so weird anymore very used to it lol) so we would rip off one square of tolid paper and hand it too her and she would take off like she just got the best treat in the world and then she would shred it (and I picked it up of course) and she only actualy grabed it off the roll maybe twice and ran down the hall to the living room with it and became uninterested but she loves paper products she will grab them right out of your hand in one quick movement and your left picking up the pieces before you know what happened lol but I do not think she has ever eaten any even if she did I dont think I little bit would hurt unless maybe it has lotion or something in it but I'm not sure.

| Don't worry. I'm sure he'll be ok. Mine loves to find random tissue, paper towels, etc. He's chewed and then ingested them more than on occasion and he's just fine. I hope they grow out of the stage where they put everything in their mouth and eat it!

| I am glad your dog is not sick. My dog loves toilet paper and tissue paper too. He does not chew on anything else but paper besides his dog toys. My dog is a puppy, and I am trying to teach him not to chew on paper. Last edited by Lovely05; 11-14-2008 at 09:26 AM. |
