| Couple questions We took Molly to the vet yesterday and they gave us a heartworm medicine for her to take. It is 1/2 a pill. Any suggestions on gettting her to take this? Also, she weighs 2.5 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She doesn't eat very much at all. How much should she be eating at this size and age? She is on Pedigree puppy chow which we had been thinking about changing. Any suggestions on what to switch her food to? Thanks for all the help. |

You can try using Pill pockets by Greenies. I used the feline version it works really well. Bobby takes his pills great with those. You just put the pill in there and they gobble it up. I would definiatly change her from pedrigree as soon as possible. There a lot of threads on good food here. I feed Bobby Wellness. You should probably try feeding her 3 times a day for now until she starts eating more. And if she isnt eating give her some nutrical so her blood sugar is ok. Good luck and enjoy her! | |

If you go to the Health & Diet thread, they have a list of good foods. Try her on Merrick Puppy Plate kibble and wet....it looks and smells yummy . The amount I'm not sure about, because I've always free fed.

| I tried, i.e., Gus tried, several foods, and settled on Wellness. Not only is it healthy, but unlike the other foods, Gus eats it. I do mix a small amount of Wellness wet, with the dry. I feed amount marked on package.

| I feed bella Innova. It is hardy food with apples, carrots and some other ingredients. The smell is pleasing to her too, it is on the expensive side, but it is COMPLETELY natural. |

| My Cosmo is on a pill 2x a day. He loves butter. I can swipe the pill in butter (just a little for flavor) and he will take them all day long.

| I feed mine Innova as well. Very natural ingredients, and they love it. No problems with digestion either. Whatever food you decide, compare the ingredients. Most heartworm meds taste good to the babies, and mine look at it as a treat. They gobble it right down.

| You should really look at all the different post about finding a good food for your puppy because pedigree is not reccommended and you may find that she has a better appetite with a natural food as they taste better and I use feline greenies pill pockets they work real well, he thinks it a treat, |
