| horrible mommy I feel so horrible and guilty right now!! We were invited over for dinner at a friends house last night and they said we could bring Stormy too because I hate leaving her at home herself. So everything was going great, they had two kids that were just in love with Stormy, she was a little nervous and it was all new for her but she did so well! She even went up and sat with my friend on her lap! I was so amazed because this was the first time my friend has meet Stormy! So we had chicken for dinner and I put some on a plate to feed Stormy. They have stairs to the basement and theres a middle level with a door to go outside, well Stormy was on that and eating, I went to bend over the baby gate to put down a bowl of water for her and she went on the stairs. Well as I was about to bend over I thought to myself " not a smart idea " but of course my stupid self did it anyways and as I did it the baby gate was not as secure as I thought and I fell head first down the stairs Stormy is small and she must of ducked down and the baby gate laid flat on the stairs so I don't think she was hurt because as I was getting up she was already sittin at the top of the stairs looking at me. I was more worried about her but she seemed to be okay, but I did notice after that her knee that she was having problems with a little while ago must of gotten hurt a little because she was not putting alot of pressure on it. I feel like such a bad mama, how could I of been so stupid!! and it was SOOOO embarassing also! I guess we will be keeping her off her foot again for a little while. We had been taking alot of walks lately the last few days because the weather was beautiful and I have noticed that it was bothering her a little bit but I just can't get her to stop running when we're at the park. SO I think when I fell it must of gotten sore again. Can I wrap it up for her with anything? I gave her some pain medication she had left over from the last time but she's doing great, still trying to jump off the couch. I've spent the day so far just laying and cuddling her on the couch because I felt so bad. |

| Accidents happen. Don't feel bad. It wasn't like you purposefully did it. BTW are you okay?

| Don't feel guilty. Accidents happen. It is lucky you both weren't hurt badly. Im sure Stormy will be fine in a few days.

| OMG!!! Are you ok??? You're not a bad mommy because you had an accident and misjudged the strength of the gate!!! Things happen all the time....you cannot beat yourself up about it.. Hope Stormy is ok! Not sure there is anything you can do for her...you can always call your vet to be sure...I'd give it a couple days...if she's still favoring it..you might wanna take her in and have her seen.

| I'm going to be bringing her in on Wednesday for a rabies shot, I am so nervous about this shot now after what I've been reading. Also I'd like to see if we could do some blood work at least to check for a few things. I'm not sure what he will say about her leg since she does have a luxating patella in the leg that she is favoring. He already suggested surgery was the only option and that nothing else can possibly work. I will be calling vets on Monday to try and see if I could talk to them and see their views on things but it's hard to get one on the phone. I don't just want to start paying 60$ and visiting every one I can find, that will be alot of money! So I bought her treats with glucosamine in them for her joints. She liked them at first now not so much so I have to trick her into taking them. I also want to get her some vitamins and hopefully I can find glucosamine that I can give her in a tablet. I was at Petsmart and another pet store around and the ones they have are all 1 tablet per 40lbs of dog. Well Stormy's only 5 lbs so theres no way I could break the tablet small enough for her to take. Even the treats I have to break in a piece because I don't want to give her too much. Any suggestions where I can find some? |
